Maybe an answer to the general discussion about SandBar Stag

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Copy this map on great great great great step grand daddy Danny Boone's powderhorn and give it to them. We are hot on the trail here. Maybe we can pool our resources and nail one alive?

Sandbar Stag

Post by Mossdancer »

Okay I downloaded, copied and forwarded to their head of security Cato.
He did not understand the yellow and white round object so I explained it was an early American smiling nine brand used it is believed on the elusive Sandbar Stag.

Hey guys,

I just found this mysterious shed on the property line between me and one of my neighbors. It looks like a recent shed. Do the SandBars shed in April and May, like Elk? Or, maybe it's only from a RED deer...but that trip from Europe to Arizona would have been at least an E Ticket.

What do ya'll think of this.....

Bill;
The way each tine is perfectly symetrical is worrisome, makes one give thought to a mighty battle being waged tween two of the elusives before staghood was achieved over the affections of a Sandbar Princess, With the full thirtyfive pointer being selected the prince. Just more info for the team, I will forward with your documentation.
W.B.

Edit: I figure this altercation took place at the water trough outside the stag sand bar after allotments of shooters.

No I don't think he is related to the gray wolf. These Jackalopes (Lepus-temperamentalus) lurk in the brush above the cliffs of the Pacific Ocean where you can hear the voles scurrying to their holes, away from the ravenous jackalope. I always tell folks that the rip and tears in the butt of my wet suit are from slipping and sliding down the cliff. Hard to admit that lil critter snuck up on me.
At the Stewarts Point Store they have a TROPHY Buckalone (Haliotis temperamentalus). It's just a young buck with forked horns (no, not forked tongue) and I will take my camera the next time I'm there. It is the only known specimen. They crawl along the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, waiting, waiting for an unsuspecting diver to come near, then with the amazing speed of a sea slug, they..........ugh. :shock:

10-4.......You are right on about that brand. Just be alert to the big one with three upside down 9's. I hit it over the head with a salt cured 10 E C country ham and the thing just got up and skipped off.
I believe this is gonna call for sterling silver wadcutter's.

Bill,
How well do you know your neighbors? Mossdancer needs to send The Team your way I am thinking now. I sense SandBar activity. There has been a lotta fine men die under the influence of the SandBar Princess.

I need to prepare for the battle. Here....... Deputy Gomer wants to type his report:

When you all get this perplexity solved, someone needs to put together a telivised documentary. Not only to expose this great mystery, but also to account for all that you have endured for the sake of truth in this matter. Good work so far, but the road is still very long I fear.

Good luck to you ::tu:: Too dangerous for me. I'm staying out of it.

To Fellow researchers;
I received this via courier early this AM.
W.B.

Honorable Clients;

It is with great regret that we must inform you that we have been unable to find any known presence of the elusive apparition, which is the subject of our investigation.

However with powers of deduction such as that which we only possess. We have found a cold lead on some writings regarding the creature. They seem to be published somewhere in Illinois a state in the United States. From information we have gathered they appear to have been researched and written by a group of Americans and a Latin Gentleman who also possess powers and intelligence such as ours. We have as yet been unable to peruse these documents.. If the writings turn out to be as concise, accurate and truthful as we believe, we will return your forty seven cents retainer and dismiss ouselves from the case.

We are apolegetic for the photography we supplied, it slipped through without the groups total approval. We had retained the services of a famous photographer who reassigned the task to one of his apprentices.

You guys are very fortunate to at least have the opportunity of catching a glimpse of the rare creature. The last recorded sighting of a Sandbar Stag in the UK was 1879. Some locals, on their way home from the pub, have reported an similar sort of aperition out on the foggy moors but there is never any independent confirmation from a sober witness. :) s-k

Genuine Sandbar Stag

Post by Mossdancer »

To S-K And Other Straight Shooting Knifers:

I was just thinking about the last few posts and realized that I might have a really valuable knife. So I dug out this here old country whittler from United. The stag on it is genuine according to the box and it is the same name and sort of looks the same as the big toenail so im thinking it may be sandbar genuine stag also. If so it lends credence to the sightings in England by such reputable sources cause this one was made in Japan.
The stag could have swam to France and then walked to the sea atwixt China and Japan and hitched a ride on a Hydrafoil to Japan. They could have used the meat for sukiaki and the antlers for handles cause they are known for their smarts. Yep its surely I think a genuine Sandbar Stag handled whittler from the orient. ILK I think your prize may have to be withdrawn.

What we have all been waiting for.

Post by Mossdancer »

Hello All;
Just received a dispatch from the group of renowned investigators. Their findings are inconclusive. They
In succinct terms say! We have traveled from our headquarters to Bedford to Japan to Oregon to Calif to
Mexico to Arizona to Florida to Tennessee to Illinois to Michigan to Wisconsin tho not necessarily in order.
We quite believe that the original conclusion was probably correct. However the interjected thought of the
Jackalope did lend some credence. There was terrible disagreement amongst our group regarding the red
shed from the dead genus pitchforthicus or rakiloticus, we were not able to determine which. The thought
regarding the land shark should ideally garner some further attention. We somewhat discounted the hairy
creature because we ran across several of his specie in the Northern California and Oregon part of our
journey. While in Mexico we enjoyed the most delicious comestibles of our inconclusive investigation.
Probing forward we got to Arizona where we discovered to our delight that Don Luis was correct in his
assertion re: scorpion stew prepared by the master scorpion preparer Lobo. We needed extra helpings
to stave off the dehydration we all suffered from our previous nights visit to the stag sand bar. After several
cervasas and shooters we all went outside and talked to the sandbar stag but we could not recall his
appearance the following morning.

After several days of much needed rest & repair. We were off to Florida where our visit with the alligator Wrestling
citrus king was most satisfactory. He is somewhat driven for us to reach a conclusion. He showed us his newest
possession a canilusithicutter.which he uses to prune his orchard. Upon reaching the next destination we were
surprized with the stuff that the poolguy has, wow he has examples from axles to xray machines, He even had
a yellow zebra. He introduced us to several scholars from the uni who tried to suport his theory of our illusive
quarry. Heading to the auto state where our short visit with D Boones G.G.G.Grand relation proved very fruitful.
He showed several Knives with beautiful handle but alas no sandbar stag amongst the lot. The gentleman in
Illinois was very quiet, kept mumbling about his paypalicusaccounticus being unjustly revoked. We offered to talk
to the management as a support of his quest. We also congratulated him for his courage in dealing with all
that he has to deal with and still be there to answer all the silly questions his members inquire about. We shall
now proceed and speak with the one who likes what we all like and says it. After our visit we all went away sort
of not knowing how he thought on the situation. well, a long journey lies ahead, we have ran out of transportation
allowance and after the adult beverages we have partaken of in the previous places visited we will make do with
what the good man upstairs gave us to make do with. Feet to walk with and arms to swim with. We are most happy
that England is downwater from Massachussetts. We thought we were going to have to swim the Atlantic to visit
the smiley one but a young lady with a terrible headache came to our rescue and lent us her canoe.

We have surmised with great consternation that we no longer desire any employment by your consortium. The
smiling person just ruined it all with so much wine, adequate food and wonderful visits to all the sites available.
He just kept using different corkscrews on every bottle that could be found. Sorry we have headaches and must
close this compendium of indifference.

The Gang of a Bunch of Worldlier Investigators.

Great story, it somehow reminded me of a field trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, back in 1978 (I was working as a statistician for the Secretary of Health), we did see plenty of jungle fauna but nothing unusual, the food was fine, there was the typical worms that they put in mezcal, the toasted grasshoppers, the mosquito larvae and the "cumiles" which are small insects that are served alive.

Ah wine and corkscrews, I drink wine daily and have a bunch of corkscrews (just counted over fifty in the drawer) most are modern and I don't collect, they just accumulate over the years, I have no idea where did all those Pulltaps come from.
