Great capture of that spectacular sunset, those are excellent.

I agree on the coil car, there were also some NS coil cars that followed which had the more traditional rounded look.

A few shots from Cherryvale Kansas back in Oct 2014 CV was on Santa Fe’s Tulsa line. It was a busy place back in the day. Frisco track crossed over the Santa Fe here

What a classy old depot, I wonder how many of those Sante Fe depots are still around? The last shot of that SKOL is really nice.

Cool shots, Ike!

Yes, I had to Google about the history of the W&W shortline. But it started as a narrow gauge for hauling cross ties from eastern West Virginia into northwestern Virginia and on to Hagerstown, MD. Phased out before WWII and reborn in 1972 to haul sand. Currently, there's a Virginia division and a New Jersey division. The Gore, WV, shop is operational and the line is known as the West Virginia Sandman.

Yes, it was, I caught that one at the wrong time of day for optimal lighting, and it is a little hard to make out. Thanks for commenting.

I was a bit board Sunday afternoon,
I took a ride out to Union. I didn’t see any steam a couple nice cabooses a Great Northern and a UP. No pictures. Only sign pictures, I think Santa Fe may like the one other is definitely from the North Shore.

Lori played along with me today and I finally got a membership at IRM again. So all my pictures are staged or a given. First picture is my favorite. A J class out at the NW shop either cleaned up or fancy and new. I would be willing to pay the museum too take it home. With me.
We are headed back this evening for a new special event. A jazz band is playing at 7pm.

Yes, on Vultures. They were evidently gathered around some "railkill", the reason for my dumb comment "as if something had died there".

No such a thing as a dumb comment. Humor comes in all forms. My better half, son David and I went over to IRM. For the Jazz concert they put the band members on the train at one end of the park and brought them to the stage made a big deal of it. We had a nice time.

And I have have a picture of inside the Shey.
