Something old and something new. Junior high band concert carry. I'm probably breaking some kinda rule, oh well.

Thanks!
It is definitely growing on me. I have a couple of other Barlow but never really warmed up to them. I am starting to see why my grandad only needed one knife with his Case Barlow.

Thanks, woodwalker. I bought it new at the local hardware store so it's a little special to me.

An old Kutmaster my Grampy gave me almost 50 years ago.
Not the prettiest, but she'll take a keen edge. The master rolls smooth on the spring, no snap, but no wobble, either. The other two blades w&t decent enough, with no wobble on 'em.
Guess I'd carry it more if it was "pretty", but she'll be sure to have occasional time in the pocket now and again.

To quote the old wise sage Forrest Gump 'pretty is as pretty does'. And that old knife is a long way from ugly. ::nod::

Mmmmmm great knives guys!
Well i have been carryin' the big boy in the back pocket this afternoon.
But i'm feelin' that's not enough, so i dropped in 3 more of my favorites,
Bays U.S.A. barlow. She's unique, secondary blade is a warnclif not pen. No photo, bummer... ::disgust::
My 76' Queen trapper again.
Paul A. Henckels Gents penknife.
Hope ya enjoy.

Does the pattern # end in 17 or 12? If the former, it dates your knife to 2017. While I didn't pay much attention to the last 66 run, I do remember a hemlock bone offering. It wasn't terribly long ago, 2017 sounds about right. ::shrug::

Now now, big-H, you know that any time you drag out those two Rogers bone beauties the rest of us turn into drooling fanboys. ::poke:: That Boker has some great old bones on it too.

How's the F&F on that bad fella? I haven't gotten any modern folders from Camillus yet, so I'm not too familiar with their quality. The contemporary USA Schrades often had issues so I am a little gunshy.

Very cool story and very cool knife. I would treasure that one forever. It's hardly an ugly duckling, and it's got plenty of life left. ::tu::

My Wooden Wednesday trio - GEC gabon ebony in the watch pocket, Queen bird's eye maple in the LFP, and Schrade plywood on the belt.
