Thanks Greg, I have another 2nd generation coming with the black handles, I've seen a couple of those on floating in the bay.

One of the 72's I found at the local hardware store, then went back later for the rest and some other patterns. I got the box too. It wasn't a holy grail find of old bones squirreled away but was pretty neat nonetheless. It really boosted my camillus collection.

Does anybody else notice the image of the 72 on the box is a first gen?

Paul, congrats on the Kon-Kav. They're not very common. It took me several years to hunt one down.

Thanks Jerry. This one wasn't cheap, picked up at a show a year or two ago, but the condition doesn't get better.

This 72 was the first of any kind that I had, very kindly given to me by Jerry. It's currently on loan to my dad; I wanted him to try it out.

IIRC Paul spread a lot of that luck around on AAPK at cost. I received 4 NOS Camilluses in original boxes for a song.

Re: camillus #72
The other day when I was over at moms taking the battery out of the mower for her. She said I need one of those bigger pocket knives like you got. I showed her several different models to her and asked her which one she liked. She picked out the 72. I told her I'd pick one out of my pile of 72's for her. Fast forward. When I gave her the 72 I'd picked out she got this big smile on her face. That smile was priceless. Here is a pic of mom with her 72.

David, I like the story and your mom's taste in knives better than I like that 72 in her hand. You win the good son award parting with one so long before Mother's Day.
