Well, I received a box with a *lot* of knives in it the other day...I've been sorting through and cleaning up and seeing what's worth keeping and what I should try to get rid of...

There are a few gems, though. I posted on another thread about a knife that turns out to have been made by Robeson for the US Army (thanks Treefarmer and Peanut740 for the help!). There is an older Queen Bowie with smooth bone handles (the small blade has no snap, but the larger one is better). There is a Holub electrician's knife, a Camillus 67 and two 69s, a USA Schrade with a significant amount of rust, and a Case missing one of its scales, and a pin sheared off so the spring isn't anchored properly. I'm thinking of contacting someone here who might be interested and willing to re-handle the Case for me. Elsewise I might try it myself, but I should probably do that with some of the Frost knives first...

There were also several Imperial (including three from Ireland) and Colonial knives, a few Frost (some marked Pakistan, some not), a few novelty knives, and quite a few from Pakistan or China, some of which are really poorly made and others which might actually work...

Coincidentally I just bought a Coast off of eBay this morning. It's a trapper (I think {hope} a Mini-Trapper) Made in Japan. Remember when that was synonymous with a cheap shoddy product.

Blade is just over 1.5" and 2.5" closed. Very good snap, opening and closing. Made in USA and less than $12 from SMKW

I also just picked up a "Bear & Son" bird and trout fixed blade. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=32268&p=880301#p880301
Kind of surprised that I don't see more Bear & Sons" knives on these pages.

Thanks Buddy! ::handshake:: I asked Ann (Zoogirl) who is a Richards fan. She guessed 50's early 60's. I have no idea myself. ::shrug:: It's a cool Swayback Jack but if I had the money, I'd have it pimped up with some sweet stag. ::nod:: That would be cool. 8) Glennbad did a knife a while back with some super sweet stag on it. ::nod:: That kind of stag on this knife would really ROCK! ::nod::

Same exact bones Jerry! Look at my last picture. Left upper corner. See how the secondary jigging goes "against the grain" in comparison to the primary jigging. Your knife has the same jigging marks in the same place as I see it. Send it over so I can check. ::hmm::

Got these two Rough Ryders today and I hope your sitting down, drum roll please...
they came via FedEx and arrived on the 3rd day and I didn't pay extra on the type
of shipment! I have a package 30 minutes away and I've been waiting since Dec. 27th
for USPS to get it to me. Anyway this is a part of the RR Copper Ridge Series and at
first glance I'm not excited. I'll write more about them on the RR thread.

Received this one recently, have cleaned it up, was needed after collecting metal dust from the factory. It was made to order, but i had no idea that the scales would be as good as they are. Is the stock standard Rosewood that A.Wright's use, but a lighter color, and has grain marks that highlight it's character. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: It was a complete, but good surprise, i could not have ordered any better, and really highlights the different colors of Rosewood. Hope you all have a good and safe New Years Eve, and an even better New Year and 2021, you deserve it, after everything you poor people have been through. ::handshake::

My first knife of the new year. From Seki city comes this little scrimmed knife. It is produced by G Saki which is the same company that makes Spyderco and SOG knives. This explains the impressive quality of such an inexpensive knife. Both the lock-back and blade action are silky smooth. Its quality is way above its price point, about $30. Came with a good edge and I like the feel of the cream rezin covers.

This would make an excellent purse knife and nice gift. I've noticed that when women view my knife collection most are immediately drawn to the scrimshaw knives. Also, the ladies like the color red. I remember hearing in a psychology class that red is generally the favorite color of women; for men its blue. But I digress.
