This osage handled moose arrived via an early morning delivery from my mailman, put a little quick release in the joints and into the pocket it went.
Paired it with another Tidioute, this dogleg jack.

Nice cattle knife. Does it measure 3 5/8"?

I have these two today, and the schrade has been constant for awhile. Long live the 856 pattern!

DM11 wrote:Yes sir Tony it is a Ulster. Your 43 makes a mighty fine sandwich knife! ::tu::
I'm too afraid to take my minty Ulster out and start toting it. I need to find one with a little mileage on it. I've learned that there's not much the 43 can't handle. Even without a locking blade, it is one of my most versatile knives, full stop.

That smooth bone canoe is really nice, geocash! Nice color and excellent Boker steel. ::tu::

Jigging on the cow knife looks a little different than those peachseed beauties you're always trotting out. Is that a Shapleigh Diamond Edge?

Considering how unpopular the 81 run was, I'm glad to see them start to make their way into people's pockets.

I've got mine with me today, 81 in Appaloosa bone, along with a Case 6355WH for more detailed work.

Big Homer, tell me about your Hammer Brand Barlow; is it a recent issue or a mint vintage knife. It is quite attractive. OH

I just got this Henckels Canoe back so I want to show off, more than usual. I bought it maybe 20 years ago, most likely out of a catalogue that had one fine photo that represented all of the stock of that pattern. I never liked the handles on the one I got, partly because I regarded them as poorly matched. Naturally since I've been reading AAPK the last few years my standards have risen considerably & I've realized that I had options other than carrying some knives that I liked but could like a lot better. The work of several skilled craftsmen is shown all over this site & I wanted to get in on that. Muskrat Man happened to be the one to whom I sent this Canoe & I could not be more pleased with this knife now; both sides, too!

I didn't realize they made that 44 in more than one pattern. I'm going to have to hunt down the Pen variety so I'll have a set.
