Yep, that's what it is. Thanks for identifying it. Looks like it was probably made around 1940s. According to what I found on line it contained chlorobromomethane which has been banned by the EPA (what hasn't been?). Must have been really powerful stuff, or it was for really small fires, cuz it's not very big. I guess the manufacturer didn't contribute enough to the politicians.

Ken, maybe that was a kitchen extinguisher for grease fires and such.

Have any of y'all ever seen a disk blade come apart like the one in the picture? The one blade looks to have a hollow place in the blade or even like 2 pieces of steel put together . We changed the 12 blades on the front sections and 6 have broken or split. This set of blades has been on the disk for several seasons but notice there is very little wear to the cutting edges. Only used in the family garden and food plots, no rocks in this part of Florida. This set of blades was stamped "INDIA", tried to save a few bucks and now see where I am. Kinda' like expecting a Pakistani or Chinese pocket knife do the job .

Phil, I would buy stuff made in China before I'd buy anything made in that part of the world. I've never seen anything of quality come out of India or Pakistan. I don't suppose you can take them back where you got them to see if they would do anything about it.

Vintage fishing lure - South Bend Optic (prism inside moves back and forth when turned.....purty cool).

Scott .......... a bit of a rare bird, that lure. Only made for 3 years. 1959-62.

Maybe you can tell me what the front lure is in this duo? It has a double lip, folds down ion front and back with a little scoop - one piece of metal that runs the full length of the belly. Bigger one in back is a Clark Water Scout - I just love that name.

One time I read someplace that many of those lures were not made to catch fish but to catch the wallets of fishermen.

Scott, near as I can tell that bait is a "Little Jigger" from Paw Paw Bait Co.
If it's what I'm looking at in my book it is; #f-7200, 5/8 oz., 1 5/16", made in Michigan in 1946.
My book is from 1991 and gives a value of $20-$30.
The few Clarks that the book show, 3 baits at 3 or 4 inch with props are $300-$400 and another at 3 inches, no prop, black and white with a little loose spoon on back called "Makes-em-Bite" at $300-$400.
Didn't see one like yours but the Clark name seem to hold some value. There's plenty of folks in Florida who could help you with value.

Thanks for posting these David. Since yours have the labels pretty much intact, does it say what kind if fires they were intended for? They are so small compared with modern conventional models, it's difficult to imagine them working effectively unless they contained some really powerful stuff. Jerry D. surmised maybe small kitchen fires?

It doesn't say on the label specifically the type of fire. Todays classification for fires is A - ordinary combustibles, B- flammable liquids, C - electrical, D- combustible medals, K- cooking oil. The name on these is Presto"CB" and this chemical is a prerunner of Halon and Halatron which is for computer and sensitive electronic equipment. Most of these were for automobiles and motorcycles( some are even marked Harley Davidson). So, I would say they are for small electrical or small flammable liquid fires. It does come out as a liquid but instantly evaporates like Halon so it can be used on electrical fires. These are from the 1940s before modern day classifications were standardized by NFPA.

We've had snow for a couple weeks.
32* this morning so I guess this is indian summer. Not unusual for -30 on Halloween and I've seen -45* on thanksgiving day many times.

Well, I don't care how beautiful the scenery is or how good the hunting is, you can have it. It's all yours. I don't want nothin' to do with that kind of malarkey. That's just crazy.

It's probably more aesthetically pleasing down where IMBand lives, and the winters are definitely warmer. The fishing is better too.

Wow Ken that is good stuff! If ya don't mind my asking, how far north in Alaska are you? Do you live in a highly populated area or out in the bush?....I've had a fascination with Alaska since I was a kid, but never been there....

I live in a semi rural area just outside Fairbanks. The area between the Alaska range and the Brooks range, is known as the Interior. Known for extreme cold winters but, beautiful sunny summers.
The grizzly tracks were on some land I own 35 miles (as the crow flies) N.E. of here.

Ken, that sounds like a great area...I embrace extremes in weather...if it's going to be cold and snowy, then be COLD and SNOWY!...Although I don't embrace extremes in numbers of mosquitoes, and I bet you get PLENTY of them in your area.

My buddies and I stopped at our favorite neighborhood restaurant last week or the week before for lunch. As we were waiting to order this guy came in with a Marine Corps t-shirt on. I had seen him in there a couple of times before and always wearing a Marine Corps t-shirt so I went over and introduced myself. We chatted until my food came and I rejoined my friends. As this other fella (said his name was Gino) and his group were preparing to leave, so were we. He hollers over, "Hey! Don't run off. I drew something for you." I'm thinking, "What the hey?" He dropped off this napkin on his way out. Cool. Pretty darned good.
