Stockman and a Barlow. They may or may not get used today. I dont have a true edc. I rotate through a lot of knives cause I like them. Most of my knives have very easy use now a days. As I live a boring simple life these days. I cant even carry a knife on my job anymore cause of the safety people. Montanaman keep posting we like seeing pics of your knives. ::tu::

Hi Montanaman. I feel like somehow I unfortunately directed a certain vibe with some of my responses which was not at all intended. I was merely joking regarding posting after your pics because I'm known to carry more...shall we say "mundane" EDCs than many here. Of course, I don't think Ken (and certainly not myself) meant anything but to offer compliments to the beautiful knives you carry, and I for sure would take much better care of the knives I carry if I were totin' those lovelies and not some from the pile of steel in my EDC box. By all means I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say that we love to see those amazing knives of yours, and personally I am highly impressed that you are carrying them and using them as intended. I don't know if I would have the marbles to do that with knives of that quality, attractiveness, and build quality (and $$$).

I'm glad you will keep posting your carries in here and I will be sure to keep in mind how some folks might feel about criticism, even if only in a friendly and teasing tone as was intended.

No kidding, David. Sometimes I wish my daily life let me go out on some real outdoors adventures like our buddy Scott and others on AAPK enjoy so much. Living in the concrete savanna is not often conducive to going on missions... I guess that might have to wait for later in life (and lower temperatures ::smirk::) to become a regular occurrence. Love that peachseed, BTW! ::tu::

I will say that I like the idea of "how we're using the knives" as Ken mentioned. I've posted a few "knives in action" posts in this thread in the past, but normally like so many regulars I will just take a quick snapshot of the knife for detail. So, to change things up a bit, I present today's carries doing as they were intended to do (well, at least one of 'em) - carve up some chicken and cheese!

Looks like a perfectly good stag stockman to me, Wbyonder! ::tu:: What sort of kit did you use? Down the line I'd like to start digging into the mechanics of a slipjoint and that sounds like a fairly decent way to get started. ::shrug::

I like that antler, good looking in it's own right, and to hear you built the knife even if from a kit, and you shot the deer, Hey man lets here more of that story, I'm hooked. Great job on the kit and using the kill to cover it. Sweeeeeeeeet. Like seeing others handywork too. Nice.

Thanks, it's just a cheap rough rider sto man kit, I built it more to understand what goes into assembly of a pocket knife, I didnt like the wood covers in the kit, so I had the horns already. What's better than free, the only hard part was setting the bevel, I like carbon steel, and they only offer the kit in stainless, it's very time consuming to get an edge on stainless (for me atleast) but it's now fairly sharp not quite shaving sharp though, but I learned a lot, and the kits are cheap for the experience, by the way I love traditional knives to look at but until now my EDC, was a USA kershaw, this baby has been thru the washer and dryer dozens of times, I sharpens easily on crock sticks it locks incredibly tight, and has never failed me, can't say enough good about the USA Kershaw, everybody in knifeworld have a great day!!

I see you're a man of wealth and taste! Just about every day I have a modern folder clipped to my RFP (sometimes I replace it with a big sheathed Buck 110 or 112 with a bolt-on thumb stud, but I almost always have a one-handed opener on me) although I rarely take photos of it because I don't change it out nearly as much as I do the traditionals I carry. I just so happen to have a Blur on me this week, so I guess now's as good a time as any to show it off too. Bent the heck out of my deep-carry clip this morning so it's sliding all over the place today, I'll have to pull off the clip and use a pliers to tighten it up when I get home where my T6 screwdriver is currently. ::facepalm::

Great looking knife! Good work on construction and fabrication. Will you build another kit?

I may try another kit, I think they have a two blade trapper as well, may try that, haven't really looked around too see if anyone else offers kits, I built a CVA Bowie kit knife 25 years ago, that was my last until now, guess I better not wait that long for my next one..lol

If the computer wasn't goofy I could show you.
I am carrying a Boker Stockman with smooth red bone that is exactly 4 inches long.
A little SAK with blue scales and scissors.
A screwpop razor blade knife.
And a SAK Pioneer Alox

Don't absolutely need the Pioneer or the Screwpop. But tote them anyway.
Looking for the magic penny!

Maybe a "WHAT ARE YOU USING RIGHT NOW" thread. I love looking here at all the beautiful knives, but I think in reality some of them are being carried (maybe) and not really used. Don't get me wrong, I really don't care, like I said I enjoy seeing them all. But every knife I've ever carried and used and I do use them every day never looked so prim and clean without a scratch on it. Lol. How about a "SHOW AND TELL" thread.

KEN

Hey Montana, please don't think that what I said was directed towards you, because it definitely wasn't. Just happened to be your name was mentioned in the post I related to. Keep posting the pictures. I said "I really don't care, I enjoy seeing them all". I sorry if I offended anyone here, but this really is a show and tell thread of beautiful knives, from clean and prim to dirty and worn. Is it not?
