A banjo pickin' buddy of mine has his whole porch lined with those feeders and they are all full of the little hummers all the time. Neat little critters to watch.

Thanks Scott, I just got lucky with a decent camera.

T.J., about 10 years ago we put up a dozen of these feeders. One hot summer afternoon, I went to make me a pitcher of tea and there wasn't a grain of sugar in the house!! :x I decided then and there, that one feeder is all they get. They are fun to watch though. ::nod::

Roger-Dodger WB, they are that. It's hard to look away. On my buddies porch, each feeder has a dominate bird and it keeps all the others jumpin' from hole to hole.

Yep, same here. There's also a couple of honey bees that think they own the feeder too. I was trying to get a shot of 'em facing off, but never could zero in on it. You'd be surprised at how dominate a bee can get when it's covering it's turf. :D

Funny stuff Jerry, made me smile.

Found a strange old tool today. Anyone know what this was used for? Overall length is about 12 inches, including the handle. It's a fixed "blade", not a folder. The part between the handle and that pry-bar looking curved end looks similar to a draw knife, and is about 1/8th inch thick along the spine. It's tapered down to what looks to be a cutting edge, but it's not real sharp, at least not in its current state. About like a butter knife or letter opener. May have been really sharp at one time earlier in its life but not sure.

Thanks! The guy that has it doesn't know what it is. It's fairly old and was hand forged. After your response I looked online and found some other examples, looks like most of them are also hand forged.

Thanks again.

There are few things I enjoy more than a plate full of fresh home grown tomatoes. The season for them is winding down here but I've sure enjoyed my fair share this summer.
Joe that picture has me headed to the garden for a couple. ::drool::

Thanks FRJ and Jerry.
When you do wood turning you look at a tree in a different way.
You don't want to hug it.You would rather turn it into a wooden bowl. :D
