Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
John, This knife is by knife maker David Boye. He makes knives of Dendritic Steel and Dendritic Cobalt. My knife is made of the latter.
"Not a steel, it is a mixture of cobalt, chrome, nickel, tungsten, silicon, iron, and carbon. It cuts aggressively and keeps cutting. It is completely impervious to saltwater corrosion, and it is non-magnetizeable. Each Boye blade is permeated by a dense, branching, "dendritic" network of hard carbide crystals."
By some magic the cobalt blades cannot rust. After more than a few years I am beginning to wonder if it will ever dull. Even the dendritic steel keeps it sharpness far beyond the normal. The cobalt is perfect for sailors or those working around salt water since it simply will not rust. Although KY is lacking in salt water I still enjoy the qualities of this special blade. It is a light knife that cuts superbly.

Great bones Homer.
Roughed up the canvas a bit, was getting slick. It's grippy now.

kenb, Glad you like it. Be aware that the engraving in the "thumb position" is not really designed for single handed opening. It may be used for that if you have a strong fat thumb.

In this case "perfection" has a multiple choice answer. I too like the black stocks but all the above are super.Steve Warden wrote:Look up "perfection" and I wouldn't be surprised to see that knife!KnifeSlinger#81 wrote:IMG_0552.JPG

Thanks. I would not call it perfection for my preferences, but I sure do like it. They are still available at dealers for about $107Steve Warden wrote:Look up "perfection" and I wouldn't be surprised to see that knife!KnifeSlinger#81 wrote:IMG_0552.JPG
