Definitely! That was a long wait, but the experience of it all in the moonlight was surely well worth it.

Very neat.Santa Fe wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 4:56 pm Thursday drove to Abilene, Kansas to wait on the Big Boy
Unfortunately, it was four hours late so this is my best shot of the day after sunset with the moon rising. Even though I was disappointed that the train was running late. This shot actually turned out kind of neat.

My father worked for the B & O which became the Chessie System. I have some of his "stuff". Here are two pocket tape measures, one by Case/Zippo in Bradford, PA and a golf ball marker. J.O'.

Very cool, J.O'. My father and my wife's father both worked for B&O, then Chessie and later CSX. I have posted a bunch of knives and memorabilia on this forum over the years.

It's one of the narrow gauge steam engines on the Cumbres Toltec scenic railroad. That pic was taken at the yard in Antonito, Colorado. I think it was was the steam engine that pulled our train in 2021.1967redrider wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 11:45 am Awesome shots, David. Can you tell us more about 489? Thanks!
