Thursday's trip to the post office produced these three pocket knives. Another Camillus 72, another Craftsman 9494 and another Imperial "Deer Head." They each received a gentle cleaning, except for the Imperial, which is flawless. The pictures are mine. Click on a picture to ENLARGE.
Hey Skip,

I see you have a red one there. Did you have red yet? I remember you had some with blue. When you get all that your looking for you could post another picture of the whole "Herd" for us. They look nice all lined up next to each other. ::tu:: The other 2 are nice as well. ::tu::

Nice knives Byrd. ::tu:: I'm biased towards the Camillus.

Today's trip to the post office produced these two pocket knives. A Rite Edge (China) and another Schrade 863, but my first Schrade "WALDEN" 863 pattern. I thought that the Rite Edge was another potential Camillus 72 variation (which is why I bought it). I've checked it thoroughly and have decided that it isn't. It's just a stockman pattern.

My daughter took a school trip to London in 2018 so I talked her into buying the 2 of us this knife from 2018. I get to keep it untill she inherits it. I bought us a matching lanyard to go along with it. It is now "Our Knife" (which is neat). ::tu:: :D

Have you considered making or having made a leather slip pouch for it to replace the plastic one? Neat knife and neat story to go with it.

I'm not a big fan of "Swiss Army" style knives. But that is a very nice looking knife Tom. The memories will last as long as the knife. ::tu::

Still though, that Rite Edge looks to be a rather solidly made knife for a cheapo. I think they make them in the same factory as Taylor Schrade.

Hi Cody. I'm not saying anything about the quality of the Rite Edge knife one way or another. Right now I'm concentrating on finding and obtaining pocket knives that are Camillus 72 pattern variations/clones. I don't particularly care what country makes them, just as long as they fit the "variation criteria." I thought that this Rite Edge knife fit into the variation category, it didn't. But it was pretty darn close. The hunt continues................ ::tu::

Two cool knives you got there, David.

I'm curious what type of blade the Tonife has: Spear or Wharncliffe??

Spear listed as 5Cr15MoV Stainless. That's on the low end of the scale, but I'm not going to use it every day for work. It's a nice knife to carry now and then, but it will be on display most of the time.

I'm told that the Old Timer is one that is manufactured overseas now. Not sure if maybe I just got a bad one, but the quality of work on the handle is not as good as other OT's that I have. When opening and closing there is a point that it takes more effort to move the blade so it's not a smooth action. Over time with opening/closing it might smooth out. Anyway it's a part of my collection now and there it will stay.

Because of my current back problems I haven't been able to get out and look for knives. So I have had to count on good folks like here at AAPK and other sources to feed my habit.
Here is what the mailman brought me this morning and I've already found a perfect spot in my display case.
