So that's why it has that blade? As a fish scaler? I just saw an older Böker on the German EBay with a serrated main blade and wondered why it had that. Never occurred to me that it was a fishing knife. You learn something new every day I guess.

No Tom, I'm talking about the fixed blade knife. Besides the blade, some of them have the fish scaler on the top (the spine).

Hi Tom. As far as the serrated blades, I don't think that they are strictly for fishing at all. I believe they are to make cutting whatever, easier. To answer your other question, no, I'm not a big Imperial fan or collector at all. It's just that the Imperial name happens to be on most of the animal head knives. I just started out with one "deer head" pocket knife and now I have, with more on the way, 8 "deer head", 3 "longhorn steer head" pocket knives and 3 "moose head" fixed blade knives (12 are stamped Imperial, 1 is stamped KINGSTON and 1 is stamped COLONIAL). This one came all the way from HI ... thanks Q !! I've owned a handful of 207w mini trappers over the years, the quality of this 2019 model surpasses all of them ... not a single flaw can be found (perfect bone fitted sides, above average snap on both blades, both blades center well when closed, no lateral blade wobble, crisp (not fishy) half stops ... this is in my handful of the best of the best I've ever seen come from Case).

This Moore Maker Lockback surprised me with its quality. The Bois d Arc wood is attractive. Google informs me that the meaning of the wood's name is "bow wood." This because the Indians sought it out to make their bows. The F&F are very impressive. Almost imperceptible fitting of covers to the bolster. Same with the runup. Very good sharpness.

Got this Robeson/Camillus in the mail today thanks to TripleF Knife procurement services.
Robeson knives are not very common in our part of the world for some reason. I've only found a couple and when I found the 1st one I though I had hit the jackpot! Then Mr. Charlie Noyes/RobesonsRme.com informed me it was a Camillus made Robeson.

Besides the Moore Maker, today's mail brought me this modified Boker Barlow by Jeffin from his AAPK store-Recycled Blades. Excellent fit.
Jeff listed it as 'Good." However, the very minor imperfections he pointed out are hard to find. I would rate it as at least very good to excellent.
Very solid half stops. The blade is impressively sharp.

First pocket knife purchased since joined AAPK ordered from Ebay Camillus JR Trapper .22LR Rimfire Classic 1993. Cleaned up with Never Dull , etching on the blade is ok just looks thin in photo. From what I've learned so far no wobble , no gaps plenty of snap and half stop. Not crazy about the color but do like the cartridge inlay , need a .22 rifle now.

These two arrived today. I'm VERY pleased with one knife. The other one, well, it's not quite what I expected. First up, the keeper, a new addition to my menagerie or zoo. An ULSTER 55D, 3 blade, "deer head" pocket knife. The other one, is a White Tail Cutlery, 3 blade, swelled center, exactly 3" closed, pocket knife. The maker is unknown as there are no tang stamps or tang etchings (China? Pakistan? Japan? or .....?). The handles do appear to be bone. Click on a picture to ENLARGE.

My P.O.Box produced this today. It more than makes up for the disappointment I received yesterday. It's a beauty and it's an ULSTER 63, my fourth of this pattern number. Per the seller, the handles are made of a material called "bonite." Yes, it is another Camillus 72 variation and my third ULSTER variation of the "63" pattern. The first two pictures are of the new arrival. The last four pictures show the tang stamp variations. Picture #3, tang stamp has maker info and pattern number. Picture #4, tang stamp has maker info and NO pattern number anywhere. Pictures #5 & 6 (the new arrival), on one side, the tang stamp has the maker info and the pattern number is on the opposite side tang.

Never Dull ha been around long time my brother in law (retired Navy) used it to shine brass .1970's we used it on cars and trucks when they had real chrome.

And one more thought. I've seen knives with advertising for Elk Loges before. Maybe some Elk Lodge had a knife produced with an Elk on it. Who knows. I'm sure theres one out there with your name on it. So to speak.
