Jerry so sorry to hear this, hasn't happened to me yet, but I've been worrying about it. It sucks and it is happening at a alarming rate. I know retailers have a lot of trouble with shop lifters and now it seems the Amazon type places are having their own problems. I guess they have this all figured into the profit model. ::shrug::
Oh well got mine today, uspo came through again. I've got several of the old Anvils but none as nice a these.
These could be probably considered as nos. 13 bucks and change shipped. ::super_happy::

My condolences, sorry to hear that, and really hope your day gets better. Dirty thieves suck. Right there with you.

This occurrence really makes me appreciate my PO Box I've had for the the last 36 years to stop having to do changes of address 3 times in the first year living in this city. On top of that I appreciate the addition of being able to have UPS and FedEx packages dropped at my box location that started within the last few years. Any luck maybe they delivered to same number a street or so over from you and that person would get to you. Fingers crossed for you.

Picked up this Moore Maker 3206DLB for its similarity to the Camillus 716. I could be wrong but I believe Bear MGC is the actual manufacturer of most of the MM line.
Moore Maker 3206DLB yellow delrin, CS steel (1095?)
Moore Maker 3206DLB yellow delrin, CS steel (1095?)
As a standalone knife the MM isn't to bad if their 1095 is done well which only time will tell. Compared to the 716 it doesn't do very well IMHO.

Trace, Based on my inquiries MM used quite a few different companies: Camillus, Queen, Baer & Sons, Utica, even Boker, GEC, and even Canal Street Cutlery on occasion. Currently I believe Baer is the most common, certainly for their cheaper knives. There was a period when MM would place a letter at the end of the serial number to indicate the manufacturer. Thus, B for Baer, U for Utica, etc. You may wish to check your serial # for such a mark. I do not know for how long MM followed this practice.

Doug is a good man with a kind and generous heart.

I was thinking of steering the "Karma bus" in the other direction so that the thief would think twice about ever stealing jerryd's mail again. My nefarious plan was to send jerryd a POS knife covered with some kind of white powder. I would instruct jerryd to simply leave the package in the same place as the one that was stolen and let the thief take it. Inside the pkg would be a note saying that the powder is a deadly toxin and whoever touches it has only a few hours to get the antidote before they begin a slow, agonizing and painful death. To get the antidote, they must first return the stolen GEC knife to jerryd and apologize. (If/when they do show up at his door with the stolen knife, jerryd could give them a big dose of ipecac syrup mixed with ex-lax and tell them it's the only known antidote. ::sneaky::)

I thought it was a pretty good plan, but my wife did not. (Clearly she doesn't appreciate the value of a new GEC! :x ) So, I'm sorry, jerryd, I guess all I can send you is my deepest sympathy. I feel bad for you, my friend. ::tear::

I just hope the dirty rotten lowdown POS thief doesn't get the knife Doug sends as well.

Just received this Bulldog Seahorse Whittler. 4" OAL. The F&F are very fine. This knife is so comfortable in my hand I may have to get another for EDC. More photos will be posted in the BD thread.

Today I picked up this Kutmaster "VANADIUM STEEL", 3 blade, swelled center, whittler, pocket knife. No cleaning necessary.

Per Wikipedia, "Vanadium is a chemical element with the symbol V and atomic number 23. It is a hard, silvery-grey, ductile, malleable transition metal. The elemental metal is rarely found in nature, but once isolated artificially, the formation of an oxide layer (passivation) somewhat stabilizes the free metal against further oxidation." (very brief description)

Yes it's a nice city but very expensive to live in. In fact it's one of, If not the most expensive cities in Germany to live in. I live in the same State but about 3.5-hrs. from there. I'm about 1.5-hrs. from Frankfurt where their largest International Airport is. ::tu::
