Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Here's a couple Rough Riders I picked up for my neighbor again who doesn't surf so they are not my knives. I only post to share what happened to me in the hopes that it doesn't happen to you, no dog in the fight for me. The knives are nice, very good quality and build, centering, butter smooth action, no wobble, solid, easy to open, but no half stops. Snap is medium to weak maybe a 4, transitions, flush, even, down the middle no rub, everything pretty good and I see why guys like them. For the money decent value all around. However I have heard some claim the RRiders are the best Chinese out there. I don't know. I still think AG Russell Chinese are the best from that country, but I digress, and I admit you can't get the AG Russell for the RRider price. No argument. RR wins for the price of $14 taxed and delivered like these were. HOWEVER, and I cannot overstate this enough: These are not knives my neighbor ordered. Was supposed to be a Mini Trapper with NO Lock Back and a bomb shield. Printed it in black and white in the listing, showed it in the pictures. I have been buying knives for decades and never was I given a different pattern and shield than what was in the ad. What can I say? Inexcusable. The Barlow was supposed to have a bow tie/propeller shield. Not this edition. Buyer Beware of aftermarket sellers of Rough Riders. Your experience may vary, mine sucked. I will never buy from those RRsellers again. Never have I bought a secondary market knife that wasn't the pattern shown when buying Case, GEC, Northwoods, Queen, Bulldog, Kershaw, AG Russell, Rooster, Boker, Vintage or customs, nothing. Never. RR buyers beware. Maybe it's cool in RR world, but not in mine and I"m tempted to tip you all off on the sellers by name. Ruminate on that one. So if you don't mind that you might be cool with the experience. I found it distinctly disappointing and disturbing to find what some sellers will picture and call a knife, and then send you something different. Maybe it's just me.

Man that's a real bummer Iman...
Might of been a mix up on the sellers part too. Do they deal in lots of knives?
I once purchased a new irwin clamp off ebay. Was supposed to be a 7 piece quick release set. What i got instead was the 5 piece big u clamp welding set. Mightily steamed. After i cooled down, i contacted the seller explaning what happened. What do you know, they refunded all my money and said i could keep the set, because of the mix up. And it was worth more then what i payed anyway. Some times you luck out really well, some times not. Life of buying sight-un-seen. You should contact the seller anyways to let them know what happened, and to see what they might do about it. Doesn't hurt. Same thing also happened once once from amazon. Least i received a simmlar thing, just worth more again.
What can you do? Stuff happens! Hope everything will work out in the end!

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Thanks for the consoling thoughts Willy C. One seller said he'd take a return but he didn't say it was a mix up. I expected him to say it was a mix up, return it on me and let me send you the right knife. That's what I expected. Nope. I don't think he has the right knife or he would have said. Win some, lose some, I guess for the money you get what they decide to send ya. For this low ball price my neighbor doesn't even know if he wants all the hassle of a return since he did get two RRider knives. They function, seem to be well worth the fourteen clams. If it was me I wouldn't even give a %^&*(()(@3#$+ because it's a 14 dollar knife and I would expect to be disappointed, which I was not on the knife, just the knife seller sucks, let me reiterate that. And if I ever need another knife to give a kid for a first, or second, hey, these are about as good as what you get for much more elsewhere, half the price of the Swiss Army I usually give kids, and if they lose the $14 RR, so be it. I would get another RR for a gift, they're not for me, but to each his own. I just reported the experience best I could because both sellers pulled the old switcheroo and that's it for them. Hope others of you people get what you see in the pictures. I'm just 0-2.

Picked up a few knives at my local pawn shop. If any one might have information on these two, and a shield (where I may get one) on the schrade TM-3 ( The fisherman) in my favorite pattern (MUSKRAT) . The other is a Carl Schlieper with stag handle? Thanks for the help.

Here are two solid edc kabar brass and wood knives that now live on my shelf. A 1109 and a 1058.
Is there a single blade in this series? Some have called it the Kabar Classic series...
Photography is clearly not my best skill.

Here are three recent finds. Two mail pickups and one pawn shop steal, I mean deal! Camillus 14, 67 and a 72. The 72 was a mess, but at $5US I took a chance. It was stuck shut by rust and caulking of some kind.

Also a printing block for advertising a 1/2 dozen, No. P-2 Camillus Sheepfoot Paring knives.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
The much anticipated package from Nelson B.C. arrived yesterday and did not disappoint. I had purchased from Roland a really knice Ole Smoke and an equally pristine 72 with yellow Delrin handles. The Ole Smokey has bone handles. Both bore the 1989 till closing tang stamp. And as is common when dealing with Roland, not only great knives at a great price but also a wonderful little gift. A Camillus 46 with tipped bolsters and scissors. I believe the handle to be celluloid. It bears the 1960 to mid 1970s tang stamp. Thank you Roland for the two great knives I purchased and the never before seen to me model 46. .

Just picked this up at the post office. My first non-Camillus, Camillus "72" clone pocket knife, an Ulster 63. Not in bad shape at all. I'm going to give it a gentle cleaning and then replace the missing shield, hopefully with something creative. I will post the "after" pictures in the Camillus forum. Thanks QS. Was really excited to get the Ole Smokey. And the yellow one, I did not have one like it so winner for me all the way round.
Scott another great group. The little silver fruit knife and the puukko stand out in the group.
N W NY, I already bragged on that one but it will stand up to more. Great pick up.
