There is a amazing auction sale coming up this November in Estevan, SK. About 3 hour drive from me. This guy was a oil field geologist. He has over 30 vintage Gibsons and Fenders up for sale. This in the good stuff. Also Elvis nut, house full of collectibles. And motorcycle nut, highly collectible paintings and a special edition, 1 of 30 Harley chopper, elvis themed again. His wife is also selling her huge, genuine, collection of Victorian antiques. He also was a musician by the looks of it. I would love to go buy his sky blue tele, but she is going to go several thousand dollars. Pretty much never seen a sale like this in Saskatchewan.

I received this Imperial knife yesterday. The following is the way the title and description appeared on eBay.
"Old Aged Vintage Silver Tone Pocket Knife Pat Pend Rare"
"Very good used condition showing typical wear from age and use including scuffs and scratches, tarnish and dings and dents, sharpening wear and blades are somewhat loose with play, has good snap. Works and Displays nicely. VHTF Rare Great for collections or a unique vintage gift. Please ask any detailed questions before bidding and like all of our auctions we offer a 100 percent money back guarantee minus shipping. Thanks for looking."

***** I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SELLER OR THE ITEM!! *****
I wanted this knife because it fit the style of knife that I am currently pursuing. I gave it a minor cleaning and the Imperial tang stamp appeared. Cleaned a little more and the patent number appeared. The blades have no wobble. They have no snap either.
But considering I didn't pay anything at all for it, not even shipping, I think I did pretty good. :D

I rolled in to the homestead today to find this little beauty in the mail basket. A very usable sized fixed blade from Arno Bernard With Warthog Ivory handles acquired from my good friend Roland Procter. Man he's got some good stuff. ::groove::

N W NY, somethings just attract me for no reason other than I like them. Those old metal knives do that to me. Glad you got it and for a great price. Glad you posted it as well. ::tu::
Greg that is an awesome fixed blade. That tusk handle is gorgeous. And you are right. Roland could open a museum with the knives he has. And a great guy to do business with. I like the little through in as well. ::nod:: ::tu::

Nice find Willy - I do the same thing ... once I've had a guitar for a while & I know it's never going to be an "A lister" ... I'll sell it to try something else. Good job on the acoustic - finding one that speaks to you is half the battle !

Thank you Lansky :D ::tu::
You can say that again ::nod:: It was either a hot ESP LTD Les style, a 3/4 Oscar Schmidt Koa Acoustic (which i still am going to get, sometime  :D ) or another Epiphone Les Paul Special in walnut finish that was way nicer then mine. Or a Washborn Strat style, or a... and the list goes on ::facepalm::
:D
I know for certain this one is a keeper. She sings to me even in my sleep
If i had the money i would fill the whole house with Guitars (and knives ::nod:: ) ::facepalm::

That is a good bargain (for no money). Not sure if you are aware, but that knife is only partially complete. It is the "guts" of a shell handle Imperial. The shell handles had little tabs that would bend over into the indents on either end of the knife. I would imagine though that the knife like that would ride pretty slim in the pocket!

I'll be dadgummed Glenn if you didn't spy with your one good eye. Now that you brought that up, it's obvious. Congratulations. You're the man of the hour.

Edit: Oh yeah. Forgot to add my 14th Camillus 14 that came a couple of days ago. I'm such a sucker for these. I just can't pass them up when they're going for cheap (which is most of the time). If I didn't carry a 72, this is what I would be carrying.

Nice!!! But you don't carry both because....?

No, I did not know that. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the handles. As usual, another post and knowledge gained.

Got two today from Franks’s Classic Knives. SFO from GEC, blood red jigged bone #12 toothpick. And while I was looking on his site I saw this Tuna Valley Cattleman Knife in amber stag , 154cm blades, nickel silver liners, bolsters and pins. I’m loving this one.

JerryD, for the 14th time, that is a knice looking 14. ::tu::
N W NY, great pick up on the scout knife book. ::nod::
TPK that Hoffritz is a great pick up. I'm kinda partial to german knives and that one is a beauty. ::tu::
SSK, that 12 is sweet but the Tuna Valley could be the prom Queen. That is a gorgeous knife. ::nod:: ::tu::

Two little 72's came today. They popped up on the bay a buy now $28, and free shipping and I couldn't resist. The one is a long line and the other a short line.

Also got a Camillus rope knife from 'bestgear', thanks Tom. It suffers from a little overly aggressive sharpening but it called me.

And from knifeaholic, thanks Steve, an Utica tool kit knife. Like new shape, now to watch for the tools.
