Saw this one a week or so and back and couldn't see the tang stamp clearly but I had a hunch.
It finally arrived and it is an XX 6225 1/2, never sharpened but with some nasty rust especially on the little pen blade.
Almost a great find, been working on the rust with a #2 pencil and it revealed there is some pitting. Would make a mighty fine EDC for someone who enjoys a small knife.

I bought one of those for a friend, It's like a very sharp shovel!313 Mike wrote:Here's something a little bit different that just arrived moments ago...its a Hori Hori, multi purpose diggling knife. 6 1/2" slightly concave blade, thick and full tang, for digging in the garden, removing weeds, digging planting holes, etc. Have wanted one of these for years, and finally pulled the trigger. Feels quite stout so I should get some good use out of it for sure. For under 15 bucks shipped, ya cant really go wrong!

Woe Jon, that is a sweet knife. Love the blade shape on those and the scales on that one.

That looks like something I should add to my metal detecting bag. What is your best find?doglegg wrote:Mike you will love that knife. I've had one since the late 1980's and have used it extensively. I was big time into metal detecting back then and it was about the only thing short of a shovel that could handle this black prairie clay here in DFW. Had a rivet come loose and replaced it with a bolt and it is still going. Mine was made by Parker. :313 Mike wrote:Here's something a little bit different that just arrived moments ago...its a Hori Hori, multi purpose diggling knife. 6 1/2" slightly concave blade, thick and full tang, for digging in the garden, removing weeds, digging planting holes, etc. Have wanted one of these for years, and finally pulled the trigger. Probably my favorite was a Radio Orphan Annie Secret Decoder. A 1937 if I remember right. After that an 1856 dime. Looks like I need to clear the air:
My comments about the pitting was to show my disappointment in the fact that an almost perfect XX era Case knife with factory edges was "almost" perfect.
I have nothing against pitted or well worn EDCs, in fact I enjoy old, worn, rusty knives. If this EDC Queen wasn't 'Queen Steel' it might have been pitted and rusty seeing how it's been around about 60 years: Treefarmer

No sooner than I got a 98 OT from Roland.... I stumbled over one on the net.
Well, for the price, I had just to buy it.....
It came in yesterday, so now I have 2. This one was also NOS in the box.
(when it rains.....etc)
With my tongue planted firmly in my cheek, I have to say this......
"Looks like it is a 88 OT... NOT a 98 OT...."
