Great knife T.J. One of the things I like about that model is the pen blade in place of the leather punch. For my use, the pen blade is much more practical.

Thanks Phil. I like the pen blade also. I was a little sweaty and nervous buying this one since I paid way over $12 for it ::nod:: but I just couldn't pass up those bone handles ::tu::

That's a new (old) tang stamp for me Scott. Looks a lot like some of the Camillus scouts, and one of my books shows Corning as a brand used by Camillus. Nice find. ::tu::

Goins guesstimates 1900-1920 on that stamp and P and Z says c. 1930. Neither mention Camillus. Cool old knife ::tu:: ::tu::

Corning is on the Kastor list. Same as T.J. said, 1900-1920 Confirmed.

Here's one not shown before....a China made SARGE, which is an official BSA knife. This model doesn't have the shield but I am fixing to review here straight away!

Official Scout Blades by Ed Holbrook shows those knives were sold as part of a chow set from 1954 through 1974.
