Camillus 72 Clones

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Mike, that is a good visitor, I bet you make it feel at home. Those 63's all seem to be well made from the ones I have seen. Great pick up. You going to work on it? ::tu:: ::tu::

Yep, seems like a pretty solid knife.
Yep, I think I am just gonna clean it up and give it a good oiling.
I don't think I am going to mess with the blades any.

Thank you Mike. ::handshake:: That is a good looking Ulster knife. ::tu:: Look on the other side of the main blade to see if "63" is stamped on the tang. I like the Ulster 63 pattern. It's one of my favorite Camillus 72 variations. I have four Ulster 63s, three have the pattern # stamped and one does not have the pattern #. ::shrug::

These three, Camillus 72, variation pocket knives will soon be joining my collection. Two, MCGREW ARKANSAS, 3 blade "whittlers" (the first four pictures) and a POWR KRAFT 84-11, 3 blade "whittler" (the last two pictures). I don't know if either of the MCGREWs has a blade etch. It wasn't mentioned in either knife's description and I can't tell from the pictures. The POWR KRAFT knife looks like it is in great condition and besides the tang stamps, it does have an etch on the main blade. I will give all three the once over when I receive them. I will post MY pictures in the appropriate location(s). All the following pictures are the different seller's.

Thank you Floyd. :D

This afternoon I purchased this Schrade 863, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. Another Camillus 72 variation and another Schrade 863 for my collection. When I receive it, I'll give it a good cleaning and post MY pictures in the appropriate location(s). These pictures are the seller's.

This Camillus 72 variation will soon be joining the family. My first and only, so far, BEAR MGC USA, 3 blade, swelled center, scout "whittler" pocket knife. It looks like it's in pretty good shape. When I receive it I'll give it the once over and post MY pictures in the appropriate location(s). These are the seller's pictures.

Today, these two knives, both Camillus 72 variations, will be welcomed into my collection. Another McGrew ARKANSAS, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife (first 3 pictures) and my first and only, so far, POWR-KRAFT 84-11, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife (last 5 pictures). The barely visible remains of POWR-KRAFT etched on the main blade can still be seen. The McGrew needed a cleaning, the POWR-KRAFT did not. These are MY pictures. Click on a picture to ENLARGE.

Thank you Floyd. ::handshake:: Yes, that's the name. It's the 1953-1993, 40th anniversary knife (engraved on the blade). This one may have had a blade etch at one time, but not now. My other McGrew has "Hillbilly Classic" etched on the blade. I still have one more McGrew coming in the mail. It was "delivered" today, but it wasn't available for pickup when I was there. So I'll pick it up on Monday. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky. ::tu::

This Camillus 72 variation will soon join my collection . It's another Craftsman 9494, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. To say the description was vague is an understatement. I've included it just for kicks. The pictures aren't that good at all either. So basically, it's a mystery knife (as far as overall condition). When I receive it I'll give it the once over. I'll post MY pictures in the appropriate location(s). These pictures are the seller's.

There were 2 knives in the lot, I edited one out of the pictures. Here is the description:
"One of these is about 4" long and says Craftsman on it. It looks like it has 2 or 3 blades. I did not want to try to open it due to getting a cut on another one earlier! The other is about 2" long and is one blade. I cannot read the brand but it looks like the Craftsman. I'm not sure though. Please use the pics as a description as I just don't know much about these pocket knives."

This is today's latest Camillus 72 variation that I acquired. Another McGrew ARKANSAS USA, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife (my third). No evidence of ever having a blade etch. I gave it a gentle once over, but it was in very nice condition. These are MY pictures.
