Royal -- I read on another source (Wikipedia) that it's called "Corn Hole" (also known as bean bag toss, corn toss, baggo or bags) because the bags for that game are filled with 15-16 oz of corn.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornhole
I guess the original meaning of that term is too deeply ingrained in my psyche.

The local redneck populace speak of a place called 'The Cornhole'. A large, sticky mudhole, on the other side of which is a cornfield. It is renowned for breaking trucks. I've only been there once, and the knucklehead in the Ford deserved what he got from that adventure

Jerry, I strongly advise against using the word "deeply" during a discussion of this subject matter.

Groan. This juvenile humor is getting to me (cause I'm not the one thinking of it.)

Just picked this up in a lot off Ebay. They were calling it an Abalone knife, I believe MOP would be a better description. They used the word huge. Not sure how big it is, but judging from the other items, I think it's gonna push 8"-10"! Can you imagine the size of the original shell this would have come from?!
It could be anything from an ancient ceremonial piece to a vintage letter opener to a modern day cheese knife.

Can't wait to get it in hand, just hope they package it properly.

I picked this up on ebay.
The seller listed it as an "Ornate Light Duty Crate Hammer".
I guess for use on light duty crates?
I found it searching for old cigar box hammers.
I figured it was worth the $6 + the $2.53 shipping!

Halloween is just around the corner and I can't wait to start carving pumpkins. I picked up this brand new set of (candy cake decoration) knives just for the purpose!

carrmillus, what you posted about your son made me laugh as I remembered an incident several years ago

. It seems the school district that I worked for was required to have an inspection of all the outdoor bleachers on the football and baseball fields. We contacted an engineer out of Tallahassee and he came to our county to do the inspection. I was to accompany this guy and working up to dinner time, we stopped at local fast food restaurant. I ordered a big hamburger and he ordered a veggie burger

. He explained to me, he was a Hindu and they didn't eat beef. It really surprised me and all I could think to say was, "I'm a Southern Baptist and I'll eat any thing that don't eat me first!" We had an interesting discussion concerning our different faiths over dinner and he actually sent me a Christmas card for several years.

Nice Channel Locks Gino!
What I really like about Channel Lock, besides their quality, is they are one of the few companies who hasn't moved all their production offshore. They are still making tools in the USA (at least part of the tools are made here)!

Just tell her, it's the trainer, not the trainee.
No! Wait! That's not a good idea. No wonder I'm single.

I think those smaller pliers were called battery or ignition pilers, the larger ones were called waterpump pliers. ftd
