Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Thanks, Tiger W_R. Yes, as you may already know, "Wharncliffe" can refer to both a blade style as well as a frame pattern...there has been much discussion about this in another AAPK forum (viewtopic.php?f=35&t=47535). It's always nice to hear about the many different specific ways any particular type of knife/blade can be practically employed beyond the most obvious cutting applications, and cleaning the bowl of a briar pipe seems like a task for which a wharncliffe blade would be especially well-suited. As an added bonus, it provides the perfect incentive and/or justification (if needed) to collect additional wharnies...one to pair with each of the pipes in your pipe collection (assuming you have one, as many pipe smokers often do).
Regarding the issue of traditional slip joint folders closing accidentally during hard use, that problem is easily resolved, as you have pointed out, by the locking design of the Copperlock which has perhaps the most solid lockup of any production knife currently on the market. That is one area where Case is demonstrably superior to other, more expensive brands such as the GEC #72.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Right On, gino...that's gotta be the best deal on a new production knife currently available; it's just unbelievable quality for the price. It boggles my mind to see people paying 4 to 6 times as much for a secondhand GEC or Northwoods while these sweet, budget-friendly Copperlocks sit unsold on dealers' shelves. I'm half-tempted to buy up a bunch of them myself and toss 'em in my vault for a couple of years then see if I can flip 'em for any kind of profit.gino wrote:Just came today awesome knife for the money under 55.00 new in box

This is the first Case toothpick I have in the collection, and I like it! It's a 210096 Smooth Black Synthetic. This is also the first 2018 tang stamp I have purchased.

Scott. I like looking at your posts to see the different knives you pickup.
Over the last couple of years I have only purchased the AAPK knives.
I decided lately to purchase a few newer Case knives.
You can see by the first picture I lean towards wharncliff blades.
The two russlocks because they have different blades.

Received this nifty little pen knife from WAYNED's DOBBINSVILLE NC USA store here on AAPK. Neat little Dog's Head knife. Love the small clip blade.

That Diehl is fabulous Bomba, and you also have some of the best indigo blue I've ever seen on those Copperlocks. I like the tan/brown ends and the change of color to oil sheen blue towards the center. Both beautiful.
Picked up this Calf Roper. Barry from Gunstock Jacks went above and beyond the call of duty going through all his 66s to describe and find the kind of bones I wanted. Perfect 10 for the customer service and satisfaction. Thanks again Barry. Nice, compact, good choice of blades, color I really like. After grinding down the sheep foot kick so the blade doesn't stick up obnoxiously high when it's closed, and grinding down the spay spine to convert it to a drop point, it's rolling with my kind of style.

Good looking knife, Ivoryman. That Antique Autumn was my favorite variant from the latest run of Calf Ropers. The Corset shield looks good on this pattern too.

My newest if a big old Camillus Classic Cartridge 30/30. It is one of the unfinished knives at the end of their existence.
