Is that a pic of Adam's carry knife? But I don't think those are fig leaves.ThatWeirdKnifeGuy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 12:39 pm I like the wood on this one.
I actually have an ancient smartphone. Coded with hieroglyphics and made out of sandstone (a samsung s9) but it takes pretty good pictures, as long as I can keep my sweatty mits from touching the lens and not realizing it before i take hazy pictures and wonder why they're garbage.

That is a cool picture TWKG, is that a Japanese made knife by chance? Nice wooden handles on that.

The leaf is from a bush that's right by my front door, but I couldn't tell you the name of the variety.

These from a ditch between a parking lot and a cornfield. We have an hour and a half to burn every week in this parking lot, so we try to burn time observing nature, even in the middle of a city there's some to be found. We've been monitoring these milkweeds for signs of our Caterpillar friends. Its been a while since we've seen them. They either already did their thing....or....as my 4 year old says.....bird dinner

Nice shots, Zach. I love how much time you spend in nature with your younglings teaching them about their environment and the natural world; you seem like a really good father
Reminds me of my own father who is 87 years old now and showing signs of dementia. He struggles to remember words and recent events but whenever I talk to him about the many camping, backpacking, hunting, fishing or skiing trips from my youth, his memory is photographic; he can recall every detail, many of which I had forgotten about myself. I cherish those memories as I’m sure your sons will as well when they get older and leave home. These pictures will be great records for you and them in making and maintaining those memories
Charlie, that’s a great shot of the hoof print and your Squachbuster! That deer should be very concerned with Squach (no "t") and Billy on his trail

Cool parking lot! That sheep's foot is beautiful (ivory?) but that Robeson slim-line with the strawberry bone handles is drop dead gorgeous!

Re: Knife Photography
Here's one for you GSP. This knife has been all over the Kaibab Forest, on top of Camelback Mountain, through Bumble Bee, Cleator. Crown King, The Oro Belle and Ft. Misery. Camped at the base of the Mogollon Rim and along the Verde River, and been to Camp Geronimo. My Grandpa's German made bowie. It was new around 1960.

Mahalo, Floyd & Squach
Got the old mouth ivories cleaned and replaced a filling that had fallen out. Should be good to go for another 50,000 chews or 6 months, whichever comes first! Sadly, and despite what I was hoping for when I bought it, Charlie, that little Hen & Rooster EZO Sheepsfoot isn't ivory...it's either Smooth White Bone or Polished Stag, not exactly sure which. But, as long as I don't really study it too intensely, I can almost convince myself it's ivory; it's hard to tell that it's not

My Grandpa was a rock hound, a hunter, and an angler so he was out in the wild a lot. When I came along I was his sidekick on many of those outings.

Thanks Q. Those are some great shots you posted. I like the barbwire jig on that Moki and the way the color changes in the sunlight.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 8:33 pm Mahalo, Floyd & SquachGot the old mouth ivories cleaned and replaced a filling that had fallen out. Nice Q, I love taking photos of my barbwire jigged Moki as well. They just look great in a rugged setting, I think it’s the barbwire jigging that does it.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 03, 2025 8:33 pm Mahalo, Floyd & SquachGot the old mouth ivories cleaned and replaced a filling that had fallen out.
