Russell, those are great however the 85 RS really steals the show, IMO. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::nod::

Am I correct in assuming all of your 79s are full polish but for the ruby red and calico? Those are the only two I have and while I really like 'em I wish they were full polish. Still thinking I may need an ebony or micara in that pattern. ::hmm::

I bought this Krack-A-Jack Cotton-knife from Ridgewood Cutlery in TN off the AAPK store this past Monday; it came yesterday (lightning fast delivery). The blade is marked "Dorton USA" - I know it was made by GEC, but is it considered a GEC or is it considered a Dorton? I'm very pleased with the knife - it is just about perfect and has the neatest blade style I found while looking over all the various "cotton sampler" blades offered for my collection. When I saw the Ole Jack mule head logo/tang stamp it reminded me of the ornery critter we had to harness in the early summer mornings to a cart when I was a teenager to prime tobacco (Army BCT at age 17 was like an escape for me!) Just interested in how this type of knife stamp is classified by GEC collectors (I have a GEC Shrade too).

Old Hunter.....

You're Cotton Sampler is made by Great Eastern under contract for Dorton under his Krack-A-Jack Brand...so I'd consider it a Krack-A-Jack.......and like any contract knife we'll all know who the original manufacture was because this will always follow...
