kj: I apologize for missing your Kizlyar post on 11/2. As pointed out previously, these are Russian made. I can't figure out any Hanwei connection. I have found mine to be rock solid: excellent walk & talk; Aus 8 is a steel I am partial too; fit is very good-not quite excellent.

Sweet knives Greg
This new old stock Shrade USA made 863 cane today. I had one years ago and decided to pick up a new one and glad I did a great addition to my edc carry

Gino, That 863... Is that late 80' ish?
I am asking because I like the fact that they still used the long pull on the blade. When I see that on old/vintage knives it just does something for me.

Gino, really nice 863!!!!! ::tu:: ::tu::

Ken - Schrade made the 863 pattern from 1953 to 1980 and they all have the long pull. The Schrade 863 had a plain pull and the Camillus 72 has a matchstrike pull. The pull is one of the indicators of who may have made one of the clones.

Thanks guys, I’m really happy with it she’s a great edc user. I will use my Case or Moki or for that matter whichever knife I edc to cut food and snacks and use my 863 for cutting everything else

Jerry I knew you would appreciate her ::tu::

Gino that camillus made me dig mine out of my desk to see if it wasn't also an 863, but mine is an 862 bought back in the 90's at a Woodcraft store in Indy. :D

Don, I'm not familiar with very many of the Schrade patterns. What is an 862? Is that a stockman pattern?

It's a 2 blade jack. Wondering but haven't had time to look at what 883 or 882 stood for. Gino's looked like mine (2 blade) to me and therefore I had to go look at mine.

No more commenting for me when I am not awake yet. Just went back and looking at the knife that looked like mine and realized it was a post from garddogg and not Gino........

What entails a "controversial" collection, if you don't mind me asking? Nice little knife.
