I have this custom Case TrapperLock that now has Mammoth Ivory scales and filework. The artist used to frequent this forum and used the handle bighead.

I’ve had several knives with mammoth ivory scales but the only one I have left is a custom made puukko by Joonas Kallioniemi. I’m pretty sure it’s the only one he’s made. It is mammoth molar.
Here’s the work in progress post show the puukko being made.

Dude, those are even better pics than you posted in the "post your new pickups" thread. Wow, that is gorgeous stuff. Congrats and hat tipped.

Mahalo Greg, Floyd & Ivoryman...appreciate the kind words. My big dilemma with this knife is the fact that it's so nice and small (3-1/8" closed) I'm very tempted to carry it. But I'd be too afraid of losing it as I've lost so many other small knives over the years. (Which is why I only EDC knives with a pocket clip now.)

A big ole beast carried part of it around in his mouth for a while and he lost it. I doubt your pocket would be any safer. It certainly is a beautiful knife.

Mahalo, Floyd. ::handshake::

I am endlessly fascinated by the wide variety of colors and textures seen in Mammoth ivory; much like Stag, no two pieces are exactly alike. That 07 caught my eye because of the blues & greens which are unique and unlike the handles on any of my other Mammoth handled knives. I'm quite happy with it (and, believe me, it looks even better IRL ::nod:: ).

Here's another Mammoth Ivory knife I was very fortunate to acquire recently thanks to Gary Kennedy (AAPK store: Kennedy Knives). Only 50 of these were made (it wouldn't surprise me if Rookie owns the other 49 himself. :lol: )

:D
I only have 1 of them. Haven't had a chance to take a nice photo of mine yet. You are right about the variety of color/texture on the ivory. I always liked the look of ones like you show here, with all the age lines in them. Very nice!

Beautiful knives!! I went through this tread pretty quickly, but didn't see a Case 3 blade sowbelly or coke bottle, so here are mine to add to the gallery.

Just gorgeous, sweet addition to the thread. Wow those are pretty. It's hard to find Mammoth or Mastodon that is not I guess, but love those creamy colors yours have. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

:shock: :shock: ::ds:: 1. It's a Wharncliffe blade, 2. it looks similar to a copperhead pattern, 3. Mammoth Ivory handles. What's not to love??
