Boker Argentina Gaucho from AG Russell in European stag.
Boker Solingen Classic Repro.
A little humbling, considering what has already been posted.
Please excuse the ever present hand. It's the only way I can organise the light for the shot.

Might as well throw in the towel with my last one. Acquired in a recent trade, Swanner cutlery Co. Fairfield, Ohio made by queen for a local cutlery shop that closed back in the 1980's. This town is about 5 minutes from my home, so it makes it kinda special. Numbered 022

Post by Forensic Jim »

I posted tis over on the Case Classic site but thought I'd put it over here too. It's a Case Classic Saddlehorn with the Springville tang stamp.

Jim, those are awesome! That has to be the fattest spey blade I've ever seen ::drool::
Sunburst, thanks! I haven't been holding out so much as I've finally gotten off my keister and got some use out of this camera  :P
Until very recently I was an SLR holdout. The time it took to take the pictures, have them developed, then post them was ridiculous, and expensive. Now with the digital I'm kicking myself for not switching over sooner. Anyone wanna buy a bagful of Nikons? :?

I've been hanging back, just enjoying everyone else's efforts lately, but it is time to contribute! That's what makes this forum great!!
Please enjoy these stags. I don't collect stag specifically, but some are hard to resist!

Great looking stags. Tell me about that Cattle Mans knife. Who's it made by, and what year? Looks like the same pattern as the Dan Burke model made by Queen.

FJ, The one with the etched blade is a Fight'n Rooster, and part of the etch says 1985.
The cattle knife in the first pic is a Queen City, and was made a year or two ago, at Queen for Ken Daniels.

I think that deep sunset amber tint on some stag really enhances the appearance, rather than the grey look.
I don't know if it adds to the quality of the stag though.
I couldn't tell premium stag from any other stag, but just looking at this thread and reading the comments is starting to give me an idea.

I think this is stag but I am not sure? Probably bone? I bought it new several years ago at a sporting goods store. I carried everyday for several years. I had oiled it and put it away but the rust seems to have gotten thru the oil. I'll clean it again and put more oil on it. It's a little big to carry for me at least, everyday. It holds and edge and is a nice old knife made by Case USA.

The number on the back of the blade is 5254. I didn't see it before I posted the photos. I wish I'd kept it in a drawer so it would have been like new tho. Thanks for the reply

Ah, Redferd, but that is what they were made for at the time, you done good in my book. Nice stag everyone! Good variety there upnorth. Now lets see, I did a little trading last night and picked up a bunch of new ones, about half of them have stag. No CASE's ect, all Japan, but I'm really impressed with the fit and finish quality. As good or Better than (dare I say it) many american made knives. Here's the nicest piece of stag in the bunch IMO.

M-M,

That is a very interesting pattern...with great stag. I believe I would've traded for that one as well. ::nod:: ::tu::
