Some very nice and interesting stuff here in this thread!
Here’s an Inspector’s pocket kit, Signal corps U.S.Army . All pieces are marked for Signal corps .Have not seen another kit like this anywhere yet . Has to be more somewhere? Bought this here thru a member and believe he stated this is the one in Mr. Silveys book . Mr. Silvey has several books about pocket knives,U.S.military and are great resources.

WWII German paratroopers knife made without the awl(or marlinspike if you prefer). Mark on handle looks like, " 43 D ". Still researching it; all the ones l find have the spike. Doesnt show evidence of it being removed or ever having one.

As far as identification, every little bit helps.

Thanks for including that Skip. The reason l didnt was l figured out its purpose: it points to the button you press to disassemble the knife. You depress the square button, pull off the front bolster,and the two halves swing apart. The blade can then be removed for cleaning nor replacement.

I think the 43D was stamped on the trigger, spike and bolster to make sure all parts match. I'll need to look on my Weyersberg tonight. But mine is not the Take-Down version.

There are numbers stamped on the knife but they are different and much smaller.
