Eeeeyow! that's pertty old Imperial--I'm liking the older Imperial's the last few years something I never considered buying back in my Case collecting days--I have way more fun buyin low end knives than I ever did spendin $40.00+
Let me know if you're gonna flip it back on ebay

It was in a sheath and I guess I hadn't looked at it in a while. It was pretty much a parts knife to begin with.

Hey Joe, thats one cool knife. Looks like a butter n molasses waterfall handle, very odd, dont think Ive ever seen one in exactly that pattern. As for the deterioration, I just havent seen many Imperials (old solid handles) do that. I have read in many places that storing knives in leather pouches isnt a good idea though, due to the stuff they treat leather with to make it last, etc. My guess (and thats all it is) is that there is a little more than meets the eye with the "gassing out" issue that some people have. I just dont have that problem and I do keep some knives under glass in display cases.
Have you tried taking a little 3 in one oil to the handle, then cleaning out the area with a surgical pick, then using 350-500 3m to very carefully work down the loose stuff untill shes smooth again, then giving her a good coat of simichrome polish. A well worn 350 3m "pad" is good for smoothing out handles with irregularities. I like that knife( and all old Imperials as you know

) ....shes worth a lil effort.

Glenn, what a great bunch of Imps! I especially love that 3rd knife from the top! Man what a beaut....and I think shes real pretty! If ya ever decide to let that one go, give me a holler

Here is one I just picked up a couple hours ago at a yard sale.Guy had a bunch of knives and these were the most interesting to me.

This Imperial scout/utility is unusual to me in that it has five blades instead of the usual 3 or 4 and it has wooden scales with a deeply inset shield and solid bolsters.What really attracted me was the size:3 3/8ths inch O.A.L.

I have a bunch of Scouts but this is the first one I've seen this size with 5 blades.Price was good:$7.50.

Wow, just got a note from Glenn that he`s sendin me that real pretty little Imperial (3rd one down) that I`ve been drooling over for the last few weeks!!!!!!

Glenn, I REALLY appreciate the gesture and I just cant wait to see it up close.....the best guys in the world on AAKP!!!!!!!!!

This one will definitely stay either in my "keeper" display case or my right front pocket( gotta show this of to my friends ya know!!)

Oh Man! I just received the knife that Glenn sent me and I`m so incredibly happy with it in my hand! It feels sooooo right! It is soooooooo much prettier than what it apppeared in the photos and is so tight fitted and has super snap and razor sharp edges! it`s a 1930-36 beauty and folks, they just dont make em like this anymore. I`ll treasure this knife for all times and it`s in my right front pocket and waiting for a very light cleaning and a lil simichrome polish and I`m so looking forward to showng her off to friends and family and bragging about the fine people on AAKP.....such a great place to learn, share our passions, make friends and find surprises!

This is the knife that I was looking for blades for earlier this year.
Big thanks to all who helped me out.

Ended up finding the "doner knife" at auction for 6 bucks!!!
It was an ugly one (green on dark green w/tip bolsters) - but the blades were full!

Considering I only gave $2 for the handle, I think I came out alright. $8 bucks in total for this lil fire ball!
The back of the tang is engraved "reblade"... don't want throw anyone off after it gets pryed from my
cold dead hand.

Got the '32 - '36 stamp! (same as original blades)

This one came in today. As far as I know, it's one of only 3 patterns I need to put together a complete set of the Imperial/Hammer Brand shell handles in cracked ice. (still missing the pipe smokers knife and possibly a 4 blade congress) This is the 6-blade Super Kamp King! ('46-'56 stamp) It don't believe it's ever been carried or used, and it's very near mint.

Here's one I got a little while back. 1936-52 camper/utility. Never used, carried or sharpened, bone handles. Still coated in cosmoline when I got it.
