PAKNIVES told me about the JBF Champlin knife and he was right, I would love to own that one. My main collecting is JBF Champlin items hence the galvanic1882 name. Galvanic was used by JBF before Cattaraugus and to compete with Electric Cutlery of Freidmann & Lauterjung fame, he was a salesman for them.
Attached is a picture of two etched Electric's New Jersey marked and a 3 blade stag Freidmann & Lauterjung.
Great looking knives. If you ever want to sell the JBF please keep me in mind.

I found one more button-hook knife. It's an old pic. This one is from the 1880s. It is a champagne pattern. The handle is nickel silver with advertising at one time that is now undecipherable. The tang is stamped Staines which must be a merchant's mark. The stout serrated blade is for breaking the wires holding champagne corks. The worm is perfect.
