313 Mike,
by the way, I heard a blip about La Salle's "Griffon" recently. I wondered if someone found it. Now that would be cool.
Talk about a boatload of information.

Seriously, anybody other than Dimitri seen that second cat?

I did find H. R. PuffinStuff, but I cannot find that cat. I think Dimitri's pupils are misshapened.

Hi Mike from Australia,
This is an anchor from H.M.S. Sirius. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Sirius_(1786)
I spent last week on Norfolk Island, North East of Australia.
The Sirius was the Flagship of the First Fleet that arrived at Botany Bay Australia in 1788;
Sirius, ran onto a reef in Sydney Bay on Norfolk Island and broke up, in 1791.

Captain James Cook discovered Norfolk Island in 1773.
At that time there were no humans living on the island;
later in the mid 1800s the families of the mutineers from the Bounty (1788) were settled on the Island.
Norfolk Island, to this day has a connection with the early American whalers, and still celebrate Thanks Given with a holiday.

I still say I don't wish to go anywhere I can't drive to.

But Australia is the one place that could ruin that idea!

Dave, can you tread water or swim. You could drive your car to the ocean from your home (about 290 miles)
Then if you swim west for about 17,000 miles, you’re here. I will pick you up in my car and drive to my home, about 1/8 mile.
While hear in Australia, I will drive you about in my car; and I promise I will not make you swim.
You can stay at my home while you rest, before you take to the ocean again to head back home to Texas.

I do not know how lone it would take you to swim; flight time is about 15 hours. ::facepalm::

If your thinking about coming to Australia, I would consider flying. ::groove:: Ken

Wow that is one gigantic anchor Ken!
Very interesting information, thanks for posting it. I too would love to visit Austrailia someday....and make a visit to Norfolk Island too!
I've been to Nantucket and really enjoyed the whaling history and the whole atmosphere of the island...reeks of history!
Seems like Norfolk Island might share some similarities regarding it's strong nautical past....

Hi Mick, ::handshake::
That anchor is one of the three anchors the Sirius had onboard when she broke-up on the reefs.

Blades Guide shows the Camillus Coca-Cola (original) as high value collectable. I've got one similar though not exactly like that one. I'm 99% sure that it is Camillus also, though it's not stamped Camillus.
