Re: Matchng Pairs
Couple GECs I don't think I"ve posted around here, appologies if I did. Rotten Banana bone #661210 Northfield. Ebony #661214 Tidoute. Both very nice knives, the yellow bone came used, the Ebony was new. Great pattern. Love the feel and size. I like the FEEL of the Ebony one better, it's textured, warm, soft. The yellow bone is slick, hard, smooth cool to the touch when you pick it up. I just like the feel of the wood better on this pair.

Re: Matchng Pairs
Agreed.
Another pair from me, this time Case (X)318s. On top is a dark red 6318, while a 3318 is at the bottom. Both have CV blades. The (X)318 is fast becoming a favorite carry of mine; however, these two are display pieces.

Thanks Dan, appreciate it. Nice looking Case Stockmans too. Look good together. If it's becoming a fave, it's a great piece I"m sure. Niiiiiiiiiiiice. Love the CV.

Thanks for the kind words, I-Man. The Stockmen are great because they pack three good, usable blades into a package that isn't overly bulky.

Re: Matchng Pairs
That early (pre-1979) Case Redbone is hard to beat. Absolutely gorgeous...and, like a fine wine, it only seems to improve with age. Very nice.
Here's a pair of 2014 Case 8207 Paua Abalone Mini Trappers--not a perfect match, of course, since with Abalone (as with snowflakes and Stag) no two are exactly alike.

Y'all are much too kind.
But, I gotta admit, there is something mesmerizing about abalone when the light hits it just right...almost makes it appear to be glowing from within. Like Gnarly Stag, I find Paua Abalone endlessly fascinating.

Next to impossible to "catch the fire" in pearl & abalone but you pulled it off. Both are beautiful!!!

Re: Matchng Pairs
A slightly different style from the traditional slipjoint knives I collect...these two CRKT Ripples (Bronze & Blue Titanium) by fellow HI resident Ken Onion will probably go into my EDC rotation at some point. The thing I love about this pattern is the smooth-as-silk, non-assisted flipper opening that uses Ikoma Korth's patented Bearing System (IKBS). Kershaw Speedsafe is nice, but the IKBS is on a whole other level for lightening fast, one-hand deployment. Both of these are frame locks (not to be confused with liner locks).

Great picture and I bet they look even better than the picture in real life! Awesome!
Knives that pretty should have a "Special" "AAPK HALL OF FAME" thread.
That would be cool!

Here's yet another pair from me, this time Schrade 18OTs. The one on the top was previously a display piece, and will continue in that role as long as I own it. The used example will be a regular carrier.
