Re: First Annual "Secret Santa" Knife Exchange...
Well bladebuddy, you were right, there are some nice things from New Hampshire! Since you had your socks knocked off I couldn't wait any longer.
After I got in from the woods this evening I opened my package. Ended up slitting the nice note with a big ol' Western 062 as I opened the box from my Secret Santa. When I got into the box there was neat little multi-tool loose in the box, great sized for pocket carry. I noticed also 2 zip lock bags with something inside. 1st opened was great old German Boker full Congress, very nice. According to the booger-ed up note, I was looking for 34OT covered with stag and sure enough a beautiful knife was revealed! Thank you Secret Santa! This is the icing on the Christmas cake: Like a kid, I couldn't wait. This has been fun, Merry Christmas to all the AAKP bunch!

That Boker is a great knife, I have one. But the stag on the 34OT is icing on the knife!!!!! Wonderful.

Floyd, I might try carrying the Boker 5464. I’ve never toted a Congress before.

Say Treefarmer, you must have been a very good boy this past year. The Santa from New Hampshire rewarded you nicely

Very nice! I'm a fan of those Boker congress knives. I have a jumbo congress with those rose wood handles like that one, I have a hard time not packing it. It's so thin it just disappears in your pocket, even for a big knife. I predict you're going to love it.treefarmer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 12:52 am Well bladebuddy, you were right, there are some nice things from New Hampshire! Well Treefarmer out did himself, but the note he sent was even better than the knife!!!
Y’all can read Psalms 116 on your own.
And a pic with its older brother
Merry Christmas to all!!
I think I forgot to include a note when I sent mine out....

Re: First Annual "Secret Santa" Knife Exchange...
As some of you may have read at the beginning of this thread, I decided to watch this from the sidelines due to the expensive shipping prices in these times of Covid.
Once again the kindness & generosity of another AAPK member has proven what a great group of people have come together here at the AAPK.
Garland, ( EWMailman ) decided that I shouldn't be left out on this.
I recieved his package from PA today. What a pleasant surprise to find when you come home from work.
Inside was one of the most beautiful Christmas tree ornaments I've ever seen!
Hand crafted by his wife.
Please tell her we said thanks!
My wife and I both love it and it looks great on our tree!
And then of course, there was a knife in the package but it has a little tag on it that says "Don't open til Christmas".
I will respect your wishes Garland and wait until Christmas but I'll admit that it's very hard.
I will post some more pictures of the knife here on Christmas morning but until then I'll show off the beautiful ornament we have recieved.
Thanks Garland & Mrs. Garland for reaching out to me/us in the "Spirit of Giving". The true Spirit of Christmas!
You caught me off gaurd!
I really appreciate it!
And thanks also to his two sneaky
helpers (Willy & Ken / petesknives) who kept this a total surprise!

Re: First Annual "Secret Santa" Knife Exchange...
VERY Cool!
All gifts given with sincere intent are great; but, there's something undeniably extra special about a homemade/handmade gift.
I received a "knock-your-socks-off" gift from jolly old SS (Secret Santa) a few days ago and, against my wife's objections, I opened it immediately. Like a kid with a new toy, however, I'm selfishly keeping it all to myself......I will post some pictures on Christmas Day. But until then no one else is allowed to play with it...or even look at it

Re: First Annual "Secret Santa" Knife Exchange...
Thanks guys!
I'm tickled pink about the whole deal!
In Germany they open their gifts on Christmas Eve. I'm pretty sure someone in my family probably bought me a knife.
I will wait til the morning of the 25th to open my Secret Santa gift from Garland.
Two days of Christmas this year.
