Ode To The 07

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

My Burnt Gray is just a little different as are so many in a run of a particular handle color. I think it has a little more character. ::shrug::

Not for me Gus. I prefer the two blade editions. I'm not a fan of Trappers but that Wharncliffe blade, along with that gorgeous toasted Stag, snagged me.
I guess that was before I discovered Mini-Trappers. :mrgreen:

Thanks guys. The Mini-T Monkey seems to go through phases where he gets fixated on certain knives. Apparently, my current obsession is Appaloosa Bone, but my longest running obsession is Stag (which I don't anticipate ever growing tired of or having enough of).

I'm not sure what other collectors find so special about the blue scroll etching, but for some reason the knives that have it always seem to sell at a premium (red scroll even more so). I finally managed to get a Mini-T with the blue scroll on the blade for my collection...but truth be told, I got it for the stag more than because it has the blue scroll blade etch.

I am curious about the initials (BW & KP) "hidden" in the etch. Anyone happen to know to whom (or to what) they refer? Are they the initials of the designers of the scroll, perhaps? ::shrug:: Very unusual. ::undecided::

I'm with ya ~Q~. I have a couple (not Mini-Ts) that I bought in spite of the blade etch. IMO it adds nothing to the knife. Different strokes for different folks.

jerryd, I'm still not a big fan of the cigar band...yet...but, I have been eyeing the "Regal Stag" model (which has a cigar band on stag covers), and knowing The Monkey, it's just a matter of time before I cave in and get one (since it is stag, after all). And as much as I try to resist, I admit that I am beginning to hear the siren song of Kirinite more and more as well. Your Red Pearl 10207 is certainly not making my resistance any easier; it's definitely a very classy 07. Nice score. ::tu::

~Q~ if you have a link to that "Regal Stag", I would certainly appreciate it.

The Red Pearl 10207 is stunning in person. If you finally cave, it's one over which you will harbor no remorse.

This OLIVE GREEN SMALL SADDLEHORN that I should get today can't hold a candle to that Red Pearl Kirinite.

...and so it begins...(again)... ::nod::

You'd think that having completed the 207WHSS 1st Issue collection, Mini-T Monkey's appetite for 07s would at long-last be satiated; but, then you'd be wrong.

I had hoped that the Mini Trapper Timeline Project would finally achieve total 07 saturation once and for all. Counterintuitively, however, it appears I have once again underestimated Mini-T Monkey's level of addiction (as well as his powers of persuasion!). Well, if they keep coming up for sale...what's a po' Monkey 'posed to do? ::shrug::
