For days that i think will be 'light duty' i often carry this combo:
my favorite of all the SAK's is this Alox one with 3 blades: one to cut with, 1 to saw with and 1 to poke with. nice and slim with just 2 springs.
and this horn covered liner lock by Phil Tham Phil is a Texas knife maker who is not known anywhere near as widely as he should be. I have a few folders and a few fixed blades from Phil. Everyone is a winning design, just perfect in hand and in function, and he gets the best thin blade grinds and sharpened to pop hairs. Reliably better knives that most makers costing 3 or even 4 times as much.

I saw a $HIGH$ $DOLLAR$ old 118 for sale on the bay this morning.

I have a cousin who hired on at one of those BIG turkey farms back in the 1970s, right out of Texas A&M. He worked 365 days in a row without a day off. Ate some turkey on the way (lol). And QUIT. Opened an insurance business and got rich. Not me; still pore but happy. I shot a turkey with a .270 in 1976. Gutted him out as clean as a pin. Good eatin' too. We have turkeys in our front yard most days.
