Nice John

Re: The Venerable Old Barlow
Here are three interesting more recent Barlows. The first is a stag re-handled Camillus. Second is a Shapleigh Hardware with a Heinz pickle stamped on the bolster. These two came from an estate auction that had several re-handled and re-built knives. The third is a Northwoods, either unfinished or a second. These were indirectly obtained from the Queen liquidation auction. It doesn't have a finished edge. The stag handle also doesn't feel finished.

Lama, love the Heinz Barlow. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.
JohnR, that's another sweet saw cut bone beauty. And great pose on the old weathered wood. Knife photography at it's best.

Can't remember if I ever posted this here. 2-1/8" scrimshawed white bone. National Blade Co.,USA made in Japan. Cute little well-made knife.J.O'.
Re: The Venerable Old Barlow
Latest old barlow pick up. Walden Knife Co with fluted bolsters, pick bone, flush and square joints and a very faint "Cherokee" etch. Pretty sure this one is late 1800's.

That's a really hard to find barlow Bill, I've only seen a few with the spey blade. Looks to be in good condition, very nice.
Re: The Venerable Old Barlow
Picked up a little bit of Case barlow history. During the XX era Case had contract barlows made by Ulster and possibly Utica. Found one of the Ulster made ones, bolster stamping and tang stamp look exactly like the Case stamps of the era, interestingly the Ulster stamps both bolsters where Case only stamped the mark side bolster.

Re: The Venerable Old Barlow
This pocket knife arrived in a large lot or group of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my general pocket knife collection. I did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, as it turns out, it is most definitely a keeper. It is an Imperial, two blades, one tang stamp, two bolster stamps, 3 3/8" closed, two springs, "BARLOW" pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "Imperial (crown) (over) PROV. R.I. USA (vertical) " The main blade has a crisp opening and closing snap. The secondary blade also has a crisp opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in EXCELLENT+ condition. It needed absolutely NO cleaning at all. I took some pictures and here it is.
