Re: Old Advertising & Premium Knives
Here's a nice old Schrade Cut Co. with a tooled aluminum handle for Knoxall Textiles by E. H. Best & Co, Boston Mass. It has seen its far share of use, and the secondary blade has been reground, but both blades are tight with good snap.

Here is another nice old one, a ring knife for Vee Dol Motor Oil, Tide Water Oil Co. of Canada LTD. The Stamp says only, "Made In Sheffield England," and gives no indication of manufacturer. Wikipedia says Tide Water Oil Co. was New York based refiner and in business from 1887 until 1936. The Vee Dol Oil brand name is still in use and sold primarily in India.

This Robeson is a recent acquisition of which I am extremely fond. The particular tang stamp, and company history for Vacuum Oil would put this in the mid 1920s.

Purchased this a year ago. Posted a photo on FB and my aunt immediately replied that she used to go there.....which means my dad probably did, and most of his family as well.

Re: Old Advertising & Premium Knives
Not too recently, this advertising, lobster or gentlemans', pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did get added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is an Imperial, one blade, one tool (a file), two tang stamps, 2 1/4" closed, tipped bolsters, advertising, lobster or gentlemans', pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "Imperial (with crown) (over) PROV. R.I." with a vertical "USA" on the side. The tool front tang stamp says, "Imperial (with crown) (over) STAINLESS (over) U.S.A." The main handle side says nothing, it is blank. The other handle side says, "RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION - BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C." The main blade does NOT have a half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The tool does NOT have a half stop. The tool does NOT have an opening snap. The tool does have an OK closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT require any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

I liked this little knife enough to pay my brothers and sister for it before we settled dad’s estate so many years ago. I liked the knife and drink a fair amount of milk. I am sure it is not the same milk as back then. Enjoy

I don't know that this qualifies as "old". It is from 1995, so it is almost 30 years old. I may have underwear that old ... But y'all don't want to know that.

Ike, Do a little research for us. It'd be cool if they are related to George W. and knew about the grain connection. J.O'.

Found this ad knife in a bag with 50 or so other knives. Never heard of LIPIC before. I am sure one of someone knows something about it. The electric supply company was in Il. When I saw the EVEREADY on it it took me back a few decades.
Enjoy
