Ode To The 07

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

I don't know why you want to blame me. I'm just following in the proud footsteps of that famous Hawaiian enabler, ~Q~. He's the one that got me started down this road to ruination.

The latest one was delivered today. This Patriot Kirinite 07 is much better in person than in pictures.

John, where did you buy your black G-10 Mini T from? I haven't seen that handle material on the 07 very often, and the few times I have, the knives seemed a bit pricey. Looking forward to seeing photos of yours when it arrives.

Yup...I was picturing a different knife (not a Mini T) in my mind when I wrote that. My bad. Apparently the hard drive in my brain needs more RAM, it's too full and I'm mixing up pattern numbers. (I might have to start posting pattern numbers in my photos so I can keep them all straight.)

It's a 2013. I think they're discontinued.

Here's another one in Barn Door Bone that showed up on eBay this morning. I snapped it up at a price I couldn't pass up. The only Carhartts I've seen are from 2013.

John, the one like yours came today. We're brothers. (or they're brothers)
Blades are as ground and they sure look like the "new grind" they had several years back.

Thanks for your support (?) ~Q~. That green bone I got in today is as smooth as silk. The blades open and close like your mother singing you a lullaby when you were a babe in her arms. Both blades have great snap in all four positions. Opening half stop, fully open, closing half stop and fully closing. It's so sweet, it will almost give you a cavity just by coon fingering it. ::tu::

Well then, you'd better call your dentist (I'm assuming it's that kind of cavity), jerryd, 'cause I can only imagine the amount of "coon fingering" that's going on between you and that sweet sawcut olive green Carhartt 07W...Hmmm, now I can't unforget that image from my twisted little brain. ::uc::
