It may look quite similar on the pic, but no.
This one is smaller, thinner and much lighter.
And it's no Buck...

Being away from home, at the moment I have a rotation of one

I love this knife - a Herr Kneissler farmer's knife that I modded - the blade was a longer clip point

Carbon steel, brass and horn. A good stout whittler/slicer blade with a great spring - cheap and handmade. Got a few wrinkles obviously, but nothing that detracts, and all add to the considerable character of the piece

I'd so love another :)

I am thinking it is one of the newer Case Patterns, like the 225 L SS lock blade I have.

Maybe LT1405 L SS

Pen and Toothpick,
The Case LT1405 L SS is correct! ::tu::
Congrats!

Plain and simple and maybe not a beauty, but very lightweight and it works great as a user.

Does anyone know what the only natural preditor to the Marlin is?

They pretty much perfected Justold52's fish knife, They should be good at it by now, they pretty much eat everything that swims or moves in the Oceans.

Justold52,
How do you feel about the main blade of the 620?

For adult marlins I can think of no other predators than big sharks...and Homo sapiens of course. :)

I carried this Cold Steel for a long time. It's called a Twister. It's like an Opinel but a lot studier. Great blade steel. It has patina on the Carbon V blade. I like it a lot.

Right now I got a Queen #2 jack in amber carved bone in my bib pocket. Must say I'm partial to a stag Puma stockman as one of my all time favorites.

Gino's avatar, the S&M swell center jack, is right up there for most fave.

Sounds like we have something in common, Bluetick.
I've had a 1982 Q 9105 tobacco delrin jack in my EDC rotation quite awhile.
Used and no shield when I found it but it cleaned up okay and Queen happy to send me a shield.

I went back to my olive green SAK Cadet last week after carrying the Opie6 for March.
I may hafta switch to calling them EMCs if this 30 day tote cycle continues.

Froggyedge asked "Justold52,
How do you feel about the main blade of the 620?"

Well she is very sharp.

I am very careful using it, cuz any thing it touches it cuts.

I find it gr8 for poking in those vacuum molded packs to get out a new lure.

Just don't drop the knife with the blade open. She will stick in your shoe or the wood or carpet floor.

It is like using a strong Zacto (spelling?) knife

Perhaps do to the unusual shape I am more careful.

PS thanks for the fishing comments too.... 8)

No doubt it's great for getting out new lures!
I asked just because I tend to be quite old fashioned regarding blades and edges, and the 620 is not exactly your standard, traditional fishing knife... I think I will try to be more open minded about new designs! :)
