Thanks, Ivoryman and Gdogg...she's wearin' 3 dots, this is a sort of stutter-stamped knife I got (relatively) cheap on feebay. Jawbone is deer, probably joined the local coyote population for dinner.

Phil, you don't want one of those thumb stud jobber-dooies. If you get one, make sure it has the Spyderco hole in the blade. Hot stuff dude.

Jerry I do believe you're on to something ole buddy. My clumsy thumbs don't work well on a thumb stud.

Phil, you wont need a stud or a thumb hole with that knife.
I release the lock on mine and give it a flip and that blade pops right in place.
You'll love it.

Phil, I've never tried that thing Joe does but I can tell you, I have mucho problems with most thumb studs but I've never had a single problem with that Spyderco hole, not even the first time I tried it.
