Very good!

I USED to have a 10/22. I traded it off and never looked back. I also used to have a Marlin 25 in.22mag, wish I had that one back.

Those model 60's, creepy trigger and all, shoot way better out of the box than they ought to. ::tu:: I love mine.

That HD looks smooth and classic Steve, very nice. Don't like the gaudy orange with barbed wire stuff, but that one's a keeper.

Today these: GEC Viper, Case Teardrop. I'm in an Amber kind of mood, state of mind. These two blonde rivals get along great with me in the middle of the two. I'll take either or, sometimes both, any day of the week. Love 'em both.

I've had my Case Texas Jack in my pocket for days. But the main blade had red rust.
Just cleaned it up and took quite a while to get it to get through paper relatively clean.
The little blade didn't need so much work.

Plain Dave, are those stainless steel blades? Red rust huh? What do you clean it off with? I learned on Naval Jelly, but heard that ruins knives. What say the knife guys more knowledgeable than me? Thanks for any tips.

JBug, one of the best looking Spyderco pieces I've seen. Love the brass bolster and different looking grip. Doesn't look like same old Spyderco blade shape either. Cool.

313 Mike, that's a sweet looking knife now, great looking wood and shield and pattern. Glennbad has one he's working on for me right now, I'm impatiently waiting.

Dave, great looking scales on the Case on ELO. Love that Amber bone ya know.

OH, very sorry about the loss. Great looking bone and blade options on that Queen though. My condolences.

I had a similar GEC viper but I gave it to my son. I don't regret giving it to him but I wish I had another for me!

Ivoryman it's CV. And it was more along the lines of fuzz than actual rust.
And to the fussing with the main blade. The punch stockman I picked up (and have since donated) had a main that wouldn't get as sharp as the smaller blade.
The jack has pretty much the same issue. The little blade whispers through paper.
The main blade struggles a bit. I just can't seem to to get it to pluck at my finger as well as the little blade.

Wish you had two extra, I'd pay what you want for one. Lately Viper is about my favorite GEC of all and I never see them in my favorite scales. On the lookout for a similar Viper.

Sweet wood on that Buck OH.

I like to change the angle of the bevel a bit more towards thinner, finer edge. I have to put the blade closer to parallel with the stone, make the bevel wider, change the degrees. I used to rub the blade on the stone. Now I rub the stone on the blade. Helped me big time. And I run the stone from tang to tip to finish up, it's like stropping in effect. Keep it on the right plane and this makes for very little metal removal and a super fine edge with no irritating burr to deal with when you're done. Changed the whole way I sharpen, might not work for everyone but that's just a tip that helped me, if your looking for something different. Hope it helps you get the main sharper, with less work.

Wade, it is doing just fine - I leave it in my company car, so when I need a heavy duty knife on a jobsite I have it - cut wallboard and packaging with it all this week. Dogg, I like the gray Dymondwood handles, I have another (brass bolsters and brown Dymondwood Buck 303) but the Dymondwood 301 is the only one I use - it is smooth but not slippery, looks good and feels good in the hand. Man, four Case 75 frames - there's some steel in that collection! OH

I did pocket my Case 5318 to my National Guard buddy's funeral yesterday - it was a gift from Primble at The Blade Forums earlier this year and has become my ceremonial knife for dress occasions (I also carried it on our 38th wedding anniversary dinner earlier this month). OH

Ps Dogg, that new Buck of yours is mighty nice - best looking modern folder out there.
