Old and Obscure Brands

That’s a good question RR, something I always wondered but never ask. Hopefully someone will know the answer. I thought I might as well post this knife here even though I posted it over in the question’s thread. Hadn’t deleted the photos yet. The maker is Carl Rader with smooth white bone. Thanks for looking and any thoughts on it or comments.

Don’t see many of these around Pape-Thiebes and of course I love the ink. Indian trail bone totally makes the knife. I usually don’t go after German knives but could not pass this one up.

On the Rader knife I can tell you that the one blade is a rase blade used to scratch (erase) ink off of paper, I don't think that those blades lasted far into the 20th Century which would put the knife production in the early part of that century. JMO

Picked up this nice ebony jack, just under 3 3/4". Tang stamped Cornwall Knife Works Conn. Goins has a date range of 1890 to 1910 and little else. Bar shield and using Works in the name does make me think it is that old. Works was used by Sheffield companies and a few early American companies such as Russell Green River Works.

Wasn't sure where to post this, I suppose it qualifies as Old and Obscure.

Picked up a fairly hard to find tang stamp this week, Curley Cutlery Co New York, Goin's has 1860 to 1921. Sweet little 3" Senator 4 blade, all blades tang stamped and the file has a Curley's Pat stamp. Amazing Pick bone for such a small knife and there are nail cut outs for all 4 blades. Appears to be pretty nice little molested condition.

Sweet little 3" Senator 4 blade, all blades tang stamped and the file has a Curley's Pat stamp. Amazing Pick bone for such a small knife and there are nail cut outs for all 4 blades. Appears to be pretty nice little molested condition.

This arrived very recently in a group of pocket knives that I bought. This particular pocket knife was NOT the target of my purchase. It is a STURDY, one blade, one tool, 2 5/16" closed (not including the bail), one tang stamp (double stamped), pocket knife. It is in pretty good shape. It needed a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Has anyone seen one of these? I am new to this forum and this is my first post, so please bear with me. This knife resembles an old rifle and has Peters Brothers Cutlery stamped on a short 1" blade. It also has a folding "gun barrel" which appears to be a twist out mechanical pencil with a small clamping device to hold the lead. I found it quite interesting and was wondering if anyone has any info or could roughly date this knife or ballpark it's value. Again, this is my first post so I may need to be redirected to the proper area. Thanks for looking!

Love that rifle knife, pretty cool.

Just got this one and it's a mystery. The front tang is stamped GOOD over LUCK. The back tang has a crest shield with a Horseshoe that has an anchor in the middle of it. Utica Cutlery used a trade mark UTK Good Luck with a horseshoe but this knife does not have a country of origin and Utica started after the tariffs. Great little hawkbill, smaller size 3 3/4" closed. Not sure you can see the marks in the picture but if you enlarge them, you should be able to.

Has anyone else seen this mark? Mike
