Very nice pic Ike ! Won’t be long and they’ll be chasing the ladies around the woods and they won’t be so friendly towards each other.
Thanks for sharing

Since I didn't get to check our game camera down by the feeder, some of the crew payed us a visit this afternoon. They were picking up acorns under the big oak out in the front yard and wandered around the yard browsing.
Love to watch 'em and love to eat 'em.

In a round about way they will be at our Sunday dinner this afternoon. Good chance one of their paternal ancestors provided the boneless chops that we're going to consume.Unk wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 2:16 pmInvite them in for dinner, TF!treefarmer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 3:41 am Since I didn't get to check our game camera down by the feeder, some of the crew payed us a visit this afternoon. Wow Ike, that's a humdinger!
I know it's not the way deer are scored these days but the old timers used to say, if you could hang a ring on a point, it counted. Wonder how many he had?
Appreciate your showing this interesting deer.

Been in Branson for 10 days down by Table Rock Lake on a vacation of sorts with the misses. Seen a Monster Buck cross the road in front of me the other morning while driving from our hotel, out by the marina. I gave that big boy plenty of space!!Waukonda wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 12:07 amThat's just "run of the mill" for you guys over there after a steady diet of acorns and persimmons that are thick in the Ozarks.woodwalker wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2024 10:44 pmO wow!! We spent some time chasing whitetail around the hills of Buffalo county last few days . Young bucks are attempting to court the does but they’re not having much to do with that yet . One of the crew dropped this 8 pointer Friday after the rain snow stopped. Saw a lot of younger bucks but nothing big enough came by my stands yet . Brother and I will get after it again towards end of week . Photos from cell phone so not the best quality.
Have a great Sunday out there folks !

This guy has been hangin around the neighborhood all summer. I estimate him at 300+ pounds. Right outside the patio door. We have lots a bears around here. % were harvested within 5 miles of our place 3 years ago.. one at 8 yards with a bow.

Cool pictures!
Do any neighbors intentionally feed him (illegal, right?), or does he just make the rounds scrounging for whatever? Do you see him much during daylight hours?

I put about 32 gallons of fibered asphalt roof coating on so far, came up about 5 or 6 gallons short. They open tomorrow at 7:00, if it's in stock. I will be glad when this is done, so far the weather has cooperated.

Cool pictures, robpa. One of the guys who hunts here at the farm got a bear permit, but he didn't see a bear to shoot. The guys do have bear pictures on their game cameras.

Fîní . . . and some pretty Fall colors here in Western Maryland. That place next to my brush is where the old hay fork attached to the center beam. My dad and I rebuilt that part of the barn with the green roofing, the goal is to eventually have the whole barn roofed in that. But it's not cheap.
