Very good Lingblade. I have one like it too. That's my favorite version of the 72, and unfortunately the rarest as Cuz pointed out.

Thanks all
!! I can say that it is one solid knife for sure and I can certainly understand now the affinity for them - in fact it may need to be pried out of my hand

Re: camillus #72
Here is my contribution to the 72 pattern.
This one is a first generation 72. Not in the best shape. The shield is missing and the bone on the pile side is missing some large chunks. Blade show grinder marks that did not see until I removed some of the gunk..
Would like to find a better example to add to the collection. This one is going into the rebuild pile. A lot of cleaning is in order. I have some ivory paper micarta for scales. Should make a good user. Anybody notice that the coping blade has a half stop?
This one is a long line Camillus Scout in shrink a dink black. Another clean and re-handle project!
Another Scout in Delrin, goes in the collection.
This is another long line Camillus Scout that re handled in stag that gets a lot of pocket time!
This a flat ground Yellow jacket from the collection that I have the box and papers on.
Another long line Camillus in black comp from the collection.
And this one that just received. Delrin handles that look like bone! And it came with this real cool box!

Randy, you'll have to forgive me. I spend most of my time in La La Land these days. I guess I wasn't aware you're collecting 72's. That's a very nice pile you're building up there. The great part is that most, even the ones in very good condition, are still affordable.
Don't forget to keep your eye peeled for a #5. Same-same as a 72 except brass bolsters and wood handles, '99-'03.
BTW, are y'all saying this is a contest?

You gave it to me in July of 2012 along with this split-spring. They both came in the same package.

Randy, those were made during the dying days. I would guess (and it is just a semi-educated guess) it would have been around 2004-2005.
