Pretty nice yatagan!

Wonderful pattern with a great blade shape
And what a fine knife it is you picked, Floyd, are those black/white Pakkawood covers?
They are wood Mark. I believe a natural wood maybe stained. Thanks.
Thanks, Marco. I do remember that.
Pretty nice though
Thank you.
I might be remembering this wrong, Rick, but it seems to me that when I followed the link you provided I could order one online, but his shipping was something ridiculous like $65. or similar and I wouldn't pay that on principal alone. My copy with ebony covers came from France via eBay. Thats one good friend you have in France, buddy, I'd hang-on to him/her. That building in your picture is absolutely awesome, a trip overseas simply to view the architecture wouldn't be a bad idea!Railsplitter wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 7:44 pmThank you.
A friend from Paris, France posted some pictures of his same model but with Ebony handles. I messaged him and asked him where I could get one. I just assumed that he ordered it online somewhere.
He told me that he picked it up at a little shop while visiting Auxerre, France and that it was a Special Factory Order sold only at that store.
The store didn’t have a website and I live in the USA and don’t speak French. My friend was kind enough to call the store and have one sent to his residence in Paris. Then he sent it to me.
He had taken these two pictures when he bought his knife at the shop. I used the window picture to pick out the one I wanted.
My hands were tied as far as ordering one. I could not have gotten the knife without his help.
You are correct, Marco. I don’t remember the exact link I sent you but it was either a link to the company who made the SFO that I bought or it was a company with similar offerings. But it wasn’t a link to the shop that sold my knife exclusively. The knives in that window display, which is where my knife was purchased, were not available for purchase on any website.Madmarco wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 10:46 pmI might be remembering this wrong, Rick, but it seems to me that when I followed the link you provided I could order one online, but his shipping was something ridiculous like $65. or similar and I wouldn't pay that on principal alone. The building with the red storefront in that picture is where my knife came from. My friend took those pictures so he could post on the forums where he bought his knife. At that time, he had no idea that I would come along and want one too.
Cool handle.
