Incredible collection you've got there there, Mr. Greedy Gulo. That toe has me both delighted and cringing at how much it would cost me these days to run one down... Amazing old bone and I love the double-pulls on so many old examples of this pattern.

The absolute best I could do for this thread is a 1973 Case 6250 but I'll bet that Boker still has traces of oil in it older than that, so I won't bother with it in a thread about old knives. :lol:

Here's a Bridge toenail I had posted on the etched blade thread.It has a script Bridge trademark etch.

Here`s one I got off Ebay a few nights ago.Clay Cutlery Co.Andover NY.Clay was a manufacturer from 1911-to around 1920 or so.The pictures were bad and it went for well less than it should have.Blades near 100% full and very lightly sharpened.It has some spider bites and some light pitting but most of the original blade finish.It is a big toenail at 4 3/8".Also it has very nice old Rogers bone.I am well pleased with it. :D

Thanks Bill, it is bigger than the average toenail pen blade.I have 2 other Clays and they have the same big wide tangs on them also.

The whalers are gigantic! I've never seen one in person and seeing them next to the elephant toes provides a good reference. Nice group Greg.

Nice group of knives Greg ::tu:: ::tu:: ... Like Jerry - I never have seen a whaler in person but remember when I saw my first elephant toenail and I thought that was a mighty big handful ::nod:: ... Those whalers look like you need 2 hands :lol: ... You have a photo Greg of an old toe nail next to the Whaler? In fact is it just the angle of the last photo or is the bottom whaler abit bigger than the others??
