Had this for a while now, posted it on arrival, but been doing some experimenting with the covers, looks a lot better now than on arrival. An A. Wright & Son Sheepsfoot.

Went to my mom's the other day for her birthday she was 93. God bless her still going strong. When we were leaving, she said I found something I think you will like. She handed me an old Imperial jack knife that was my dad's. I just cleaned it up and thought I would post it.

Marco,
With all the new knives you're posting I think you should open a knife shop.

That's not a bad idea Nev! LOL! Being in Canada I'd have problems with my autos though and there's a fair amount of money tied-up in those. Also, I have left my entire collection to a fellow member in my will for when my time comes and I would never back out of something like that! Of all my knives I've never bought one with the intention of selling it later so I'm not gonna start now!

That is a nice knife Nev, I would make sure it is clean and a spot of oil and then put it under glass or in a shadow box with your father's name and just display it. IMHO

Thank you David. It just proves if you think outside the square you can still be a collector for a very reasonable price. I purchased a bundle of 3 knives for a very good price, i'm no expert but like experimenting on knife covers to get a more unique finish. These were okay when i received them, but just tried something new that i had tried on different wood scraps with varying results, and they turned out as you said, looking gorgeous. And it was so simple, i always say to people don't be frightened to experiment and try different things, you will be surprised with what you can achieve, and you don't have to be a skilled cutler. Thanks for your input and have a good weekend mate.

Nev, First.... Happy Birthday to your Mom. The man up stairs has blessed her with many years, and good to hear she is in good health. Also, congrats on your Dad's Knife being passed down to you. That is special. Keep it clean, keep it oiled and carry it with fond memories, And like others have said, make a little display to put it in when you are not carrying it on those special occasions.
