Letting it go.

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Interview Update:

Had my job interview at 09:00 a.m. today. The good news is, I can have the job if I want it. ::hmm::

The bad news is..., I would be taking a pay cut if I take it & I'm already struggling to make ends meet and provide for our basic needs. So, I'll sleep over it but I will probably be turning it down. ::shrug::

Still struggling to "Let it go" too. ::doh::

Psalm 23
New King James Version

The Lord the Shepherd of His People
A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is (A)my shepherd;
(B)I shall not [a]want.
2 (C)He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
(D)He leads me beside the [c]still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
(E)He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of (F)the shadow of death,
(G)I will fear no evil;
(H)For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You (I)prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You (J)anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will [d]dwell in the house of the Lord
[e]Forever.

I can believe that he has a better job for me but I gave up on believing there is any special purpose for me. Can't see it, can't find it, tired of looking for it. I'm just here. Just my opinion. ::hmm:: But thanks Mike. ::handshake::

Tom, Over the years I have observed a relative or two who lost their jobs. In addition to invoking Our Lord's guidance, they each "pounded the pavement" and had to make several applications. After varying lengths of time they each came up with better paying jobs. The key in each case was doing all they could in their search, working hard at it, while staying close to our Creator. In other words, prayer and effort; patience and confidence.

You have a purpose Tom. You might not think you do but you definitely have one. What you do in your daily life AND how you handle yourself during this job search is what God has for you in this life. Others will see your example..... you can't hide that. Living your life as an example for others who NEED our Savior is a VERY SPECIAL purpose. I'm not saying become a preacher..... I'm just saying.... let your light shine.

God bless you and may God let you realize your purpose.

Appreciate the reminder QS! ::tu:: ::handshake:: I have been blessed with a wonderful family. ::nod:: If that's God's only purpose for me then I'll just keep on giving it my best to do things right. ::tu::

"One thing Right"

"I've been at the wrong place at the wrong time
Chasing all the wrong things most of my life
Been every kind of lost that you can't find
But I got one thing right..."

A better job with better pay would still be a very helpful blessing though. ::tu::

A better job will of course be a big help in accomplishing your purpose. So, as Jesus taught Ask, Seek, Knock. And elsewhere he taught us to pray without ceasing. In other words, pester Him like the lady in the gospel who finally got a judge to relent and favor her petition simply to get rid of her. That is a very human example the Lord gave us. Let's not ignore it. And notice that in His instruction on prayer, just to underscore the point, the first letters of Ask,Seek, Knock spell ASK. We also want to be sure to offer thanksgiving for the many blessings we have already received beginning with our very life.

When one is confronted by difficult episodes in one's life, reviewing the Lord's manifest goodness during our lives can keep us from going into a dark tunnel.

Praying that God puts you in the job He wants you in. And I pray for you the wisdom to recognize His hand in it and grace to accept where God assigns you.

Personally, I know I have had difficulty in the past accepting where God assigned me. Once I accepted it it was the best job of my life! I just had to get my will aligned with his will.

Had another job interview today. ::doh:: Chemicals, chemicals, chemicals everywhere! ::woot:: ::barf::
Never seen anything like it before. :shock: I won't go into details but I turned it down. It surely would have killed me to work there. ::td::

My search continues. ::doh::

I am learning something though. I can actually turn down bad jobs. ::nod:: ::tu::

Hey Tom,
It's definitely not easy to do Tom that's why we all need more of God's grace to accept the assignments He gives us. But since God is a Loving Father and since he is perfect unlike myself and like most of us fathers. God does not assign us punishment but he may give us an assignment we find unpleasant to develop and refine the precious ore he desires to refine from each of us. It's not easy and it's certainly not something I have mastered myself! That everyday gives me little more grace. That grace is greater than all my sins and all my mistakes

Very well put, Dale!

I have always heard many people say, "Don't ask God for patience, unless you want Him to send you circumstances to use it on."

Just like body building, You can't have GAIN unless there is PAIN.

I have been through some hard times in my life. During those times, I was a train wreck because satan was constantly telling me I was a failure. BUT, afterward, I looked back and God told me.... All my worrying was a waste of time because His plan was in place before I even prayed my first prayer. God had me and me family in His will and all I needed to do was TRUST HIM.

Faith, trust and patience comes from trials. God's plan WILL come to pass.
