But, I received a couple of nice one's today and have a few more on the way, so I'll be able to participate more. I had become somewhat discouraged with sitting on pins n' needles and worrying if my packages would get through Customs, as well as suffering the seizures, so I came up with a new plan. There's an online store here in Canada that has many, many models in stock, and, some with A/O that they already had before Customs went nuts on folding knives, so I'm concentrating on purchases from them as opposed to Ebay and other foreign stores where the packages need to pass Customs. I've found that after currency exchange and distant shipping the CDN prices I need to pay are very similar to what I'd have paid had I ordered from out of country. This is not to say I'll never buy from out of country again, I'm simply going to be much more selective than I had been. I also made 2 new connections to buy autos from, with one really beautiful model on the way, so it seems I'm back in the driver's seat. These 2 today are both from Lionsteel and are made in Maniago, Italy and are models I've wanted for sometime. The 1st is the 7" oal "Thrill" slip-joint/M390 drop-point blade, textured black aluminum covers, adjustable pivot, and a very cool pocket-clip deployment. In order for the clip to be deployed you must depress the shield on the mark side down by the butt-end, and the spring loaded clip will pop-up on the pile side.(See 3rd pic!) When you release the shield the clip drops-down flush into the cover again. Cool, huh! The 2nd piece is the very first L/S knife I'd come across, and was instantly attracted to it's simple design. It's a 6 3/4" oal "Bestman" model/M390 drop-point blade, I believe NS bolsters, SS liner, adjustable pivot, and carbon fiber covers. These were not inexpensive knives, running me CDN$200./delivered a piece, but they fall in line with my new policy of "quality over quantity! 8)WIN_20210811_12_34_17_Pro.jpgWIN_20210811_12_31_16_Pro.jpgWIN_20210811_12_33_49_Pro.jpgWIN_20210811_12_35_26_Pro.jpgWIN_20210811_12_35_09_Pro.jpg
Yup mate, those are a step-up in the quality game. I too have a "Bestman" on my buy list... Like you say, quality over quanity; name of the game baby!

Thanks Willy! You should act on your buy list ASAP, you are gonna like that knife! 8)

Wow, nice knives Mark! I have been wanting to check out the Thrill but haven’t done so yet. The retractable pocket clip is genius. I like that it retracts as soon as you pull the knife from your pocket. Completely eliminates the annoyance of the pocket clip ruining the ergonomics of the handle. Yet it’s always there when you need it. Brilliant!

I have a couple of the two blade Bestmans and they are outstanding knives. By the way, the bolsters and liners are both Titanium on the Bestman models.

Great scores all around!
Thank you so much Rick! I had a sneaking suspicion I was incorrect about what bolster and liner material was used, because the enclosed information only highlighted the blade steel, but now I know they're Titanium I like the knife even more. I think you'd like the "Thrill" as well, specially if you're not a fan of pocket-clips, cuz when not in use the clip sits completely flush inside the handle and springs up nice and smoothly when you want to use it. It hadn't crossed my mind that the clip would automatically disappear due to the spring-load as one pulled the knife from a pocket and as you said, brilliant! have never been a fan of pocket-clips and always remove them as soon as the knife arrives, but I bought this one specifically for the unusual mechanism and the quality of the knife overall is a huge bonus. You and I had discussed previously about L/S knives, and you had stated how much you like your 2-blader's, and that's what helped prompt me to finally pull the trigger for the 2 models I wanted. 8)

Great stuff Marco, Treefarmer, Q, doglegg. Congrats, some real nice score around.
Been looking for Queen amber wormgroove or bonestag on and off last few months. Power of suggestion or my own sick disease of monkey see monkey do but when I see the stuff I want it. Anyway the dog days of summer I guess but after seeing these TDrops go by for more than I wanted to pay I lucked out and my bid won and by much less than the bid. Couldn't believe that. Really like these big spears. Don't care much for the etch, but is what it is. Do like the Queen City stamp and 69 serial #. Nice SFO over all. Love bone like this.

You're welcome, Marc and thank you!

Here's another new pick-up for me: a really nice Schrade Uncle Henry 834UH. It's unused and complete with box and paperwork. Has "LA" engraved on the mark side head bolster. Another hole in the Schrade collection has been filled; many more to go. Thanks to Sanders Knives for this one!

That is a stunning knife Iman. Teardrop body, big fat spear blade, and those gorgeous covers ice the cake! Too bad about the etch, but it's not that bad overall. Congrats on your persistence to get what you want, even if it did take longer than you'd have liked, you got it at a price you can live with! 8)

You are welcome Jake, What a beauty that one is. That is a great first choice for a Barlow. Love that red bone.

Ivoryman, that is a sweet looking teardrop jack, I’m partial to those as well.

Dan that’s a nice looking Schrade, I like that shield.

Hey guys, been gone for week, and doing some catch-up reading. Everyone posting some nice finds. I finally received a knife I had fished out of the bay last month. Only took 14 days to get here, isn't the postal service great? ::cb::

Another to join my Craftsman Family and Barlow Barlow Box. A Craftsman 9540 Old "Crafty" Barlow. Great snap on all blades, blades seem full, & no cracks in the handles. I believe these were made by Ulster for Sears. All I had to do was oil the joints.

Through mysterious circumstances this one showed up before noon today. I've been slightly infatuated with these for quite some time and finally broke down and picked one up. It's actually fairly well made. I can't imagine carrying one but it can set up on my "love me shelf" and I can stare at it. Made in Italy.

Very cool Jerry! I've often wondered how well these novelty models are constructed, and your Beretta looks as solid as the day is long. I'm a big fan of the unusual, and this one sure fits the bill! 8)

Just received this one.
I have been wanting a sheepsfoot for a while and this one caught my attention because of the handle, black horn instead of wood.
Also my first French folder.
Pretty sharp blade out of the box and feels good in hand.
I will see how it passes the test of time ::tu::

USPS was late getting to my place today, but they did bring this Camillus 1. More photos will be in the Camillus forum not long after I bang out this post.
