Thank you, JP. Yes, right time and right place, but also my dog didn't jump in for a swim as he normally does which would have spoiled the mirror like surface of the water.

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
Thought I'd throw a few pics up that I've taken over the years.
The first six are of a group of newly hatched garden spiders that were perched near the entrance to my shop one day.To get an idea of the scale you could cover the area with a dime.Something caused them to disperse.By the afternoon they had all been washed away by a heavy rainstorm.A comment on the fragility of life I guess.
Number seven is a picture I took last fall in the upper corner of my shop door.A large garden spider had taken up residence there and made a beautiful orb web.Strangely another spider(maybe a male)had also taken up residence.First time I have ever seen two spiders occupy one web.
The last three pics were taken across the street from my home. There is a small airport(Meyers-Divers)there and these were taken on Memorial Day.The planes were re-fueling there to do various flyovers in the area.
The first one I titled,"December 7th" because I imagined what it might have looked like over Pearl Harbor on that day in 1941.The overcast sky gave it a sinister look.
The second one I titled,"Yankin' the 'gear";the pilot was pulling it up quickly to gain airspeed to clear the trees at the end of the runway.
The last one is titled," Truth in advertising" and is self-explanatory

Re: Pictures of Miscellaneous Stuff & Things
A few more if you don't mind:
#1 I call the,"Grasshopper Umbrella";a perfectly formed fungus on my lawn.
#2 "The Mighty DanDeLion" shot from a different angle.
#3 & #4 Shot at Lynn Beach in Massachusetts I was experimenting with my new camera at the time.It is essentially the same picture but the second one is at full(40x)magnification.
#5 Titled,"Butt Ugly Boat" it is one of the ugliest boats I've ever seen;shot at a boat storage place in Michigan.
#6 Titled,Frozen Beauty",it is a picture of the front wheel hub on our GEO Tracker after a 600 mile journey in January.
#7 The Rolling Stones in concert Jacksonville Florida 1965. Bought the tickets two hours before showtime just to the right of center stage for $2.50! And they were THIRD on the bill after the Righteous Brothers and the Sir Douglas Quintet!
#8 is perhaps my favorite picture titled,"Little Biker". My nephew Jim Cassier sitting on my friend's brand new Harley circa 1975. His mother liked the picture so much she blew it up to poster size and still has it hanging in her living room.

I shiver as well. Just grey and overcast with insufficient snow to create a winter wonderland. But I can forgo the wonderland part; don't want or need any more snow tho a bit more has fallen.

Ike you are too generous. Surely the shots are strictly routine even mundane. So why did I take them? I was just trying to convey that it was a rather bleak, wintry day. Primarily taken for relatives. But I am glad to know you looked at them. Thanks.

Routine? Mundane? Perhaps, to some out there, but you hit the things that I like. I am a fan of Winter, of countryside, particularly the agricultural countryside, and I think a photo of a dried weed on a gloomy winter day is great subject matter.Quick Steel wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 7:21 pm Ike you are too generous. Your 3rd photo of the horizontal branches and shed/barn in the background, took me back to when I was a kid. It brought back memories of hanging out with the cattle eating from the hay rack in my grandpa's barn, while the winter winds whistled around and through.
