Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

You're so right. I tried it a couple years sago and only made it about 2 1/2 months. My goal was 12 months. I even attended a knife knife show during that time. I didn't buy anything there but sure enough, a couple months later I saw a knife I just had to have.

Funny thing is, right now I don't even remember what that "had to have" knife was.

Wow that's some pretty bone. Reminds me of Giraffe on the Northwoods, but I assume it's Zebu. Love the splotchy dye hits and misses. And great color.

Seems like every time I decide to stop buying knives for awhile in order to give my budget time to catch up, inevitably, I'll find a bunch of "must have" knives.

Here's another one that I just had to have. (Looks like The Monkey will have to survive on beans and rice for the rest of the month!)

QTCut5 wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 11:50 pm Thanks, guys. I have really fallen for that Green Bone on the earlier Case knives. If you can find it at all, good examples don't come cheap, though.

And not to be a Nitpicking Negative Nelly, but in the interest of full disclosure and documentation for posterity, I should point out the unfortunate fact that this is the second knife in my very small collection (6) of pre-1970 Case 6207 Mini Trappers that has a proud secondary pen blade. ::disgust::
Great bone, sweeeeeeeeeet warm glow. Wow. I wouldn't mess with a beauty like that but it's so easy to fix. I've carefully ground down several blade kicks to make the blade sit a little lower when closed. Two minutes on a wheel. No issues. Congrats, that's the kind of bone.

IMO well worth the wait. I love it.
The picture sucks. It's much better in hand.

I just noticed. Is Case bringing back the "new grind"?

I believe that is the grind used on the Tony Bose patterns...which is about halfway between the Regular Grind and the "New Grind" Case used in the early 1980s.

Today I add these two pocket knives to my collection. They both are CASE XX (2005), 6207 SS, 2 blade, Orange County Choppers, mini trapper pocket knives. They both came with their tins (not pictured). They didn't need any cleaning. I took some pictures and here they are. All the pocket knives in the last picture have orange handles. A couple just appear to have yellow handles.
